We live through crises of immense magnitude and sometimes feel so insignificant in comparison. We differ from the world in that the Church has true significance and carries answers to so many of the problems around us. We believe, maybe more than ever, that the church must be ready to respond to humanitarian crises, pandemics, and disasters of all kinds.
Jesus is the only hope for all that is going on and the church is called to display His love and hope in the toughest times! Matthew 24:6-8, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains."
Acts of Mercy is the international disaster relief arm of the Antioch Movement and we have an affiliate chapter here at CrossBridge to respond to both local and international disasters. We mobilize believers who are medical professionals and trained first responders to bring prompt, physical, and spiritual care in times of crisis.
With long-term recovery in mind, we partner with the Acts of Mercy Development team in Waco and other chapters across the nation to respond to crises. If you are a medical professional, a first responder, trained in security and logistics, or someone who can be an “all hands on deck” kind of person, we encourage you to prayerfully consider joining our Acts of Mercy chapter at CrossBridge. In-person or online training is provided to get you practically and spiritually prepared to respond to disasters all around the world.

I believe the miracle of birth is a normal natural process and every person has the right to choose where and how they give birth. My goal is to assist you with your transition into new parenthood.
Throughout the birth process you will receive labor support as needed, birthing person and fetal assessments will be completed, you will have freedom to move, eat and drink as you desire. Water birth can be accommodated while you enjoy the comfort of the warm water. Skin to skin bonding with your infant immediately after birth and breastfeeding/chestfeeding support without interruption is offered. Constant evaluation and observation of the birthing person and baby during the postpartum period for several hours is provided all the while allowing for family bonding.
Postpartum visits are scheduled between 24-48 hours after the birth, an optional 5-7 day office visit, a 2 week office visit for baby and birther and and a 6 week visit for the birther. During this period I will be available for any questions or concerns you may have. Certified Nurse Midwives can care for newborns up to 28 days of age, With this being said, it is encouraged you arrange a primary care provider for your baby as soon as possible. Please contact San Antonio Nurse Midwife for more details and about formulating your specific plan of care.
Receiving early and regular prenatal care is important. Initial visits can be scheduled as soon as you have a positive pregnancy test. Lasting about two hours, initial visits include a comprehensive health history review, complete physical exam with PAP and
prenatal lab work.
San Antonio Nurse Midwife follows the same schedule that most physicians follow during the prenatal period. After your initial visit, subsequent 45 minute to one hour visits will take place every four weeks until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and weekly after 36 weeks until birth. At each visit the following will be completed/assessed:
-Physical and emotional status
-Vital signs including blood pressure and pulse
-Nutrition
-Urine checked
-Fundal Height
-Fetal Heart Tones and Position
-Lab work as needed
-Prenatal Education
As a partner on your birth journey, I strive to establish a personal relationship with you and your significant other. In order to facilitate this relationship, I encourage family member participation during prenatal visits and the birth.

Our MAX (Make-A-Connection) Program is an interactive experience focused on the horse-human bond and its impact on relationships through an introduction to equine experiential learning and the principles of basic horsemanship. This unique program offers individuals the opportunity to gain or re-gain essential life and coping skills that allow productive interactions and collaboration with those with whom they live and work.
Many individuals and groups can experience the wonderful benefits of the MAX Program including, but not limited to:
- Military families
- Veterans
- Grief support groups/grieving individuals
- Children with special needs and their families
- Those suffering from a serious illness such as cancer
- Therapists and other support personnel for those listed above
We offer both a 5-week and one-day MAX Program workshops. (Our one-day workshop covers the same information as the 5-week program, just in a more condensed format).
MAX Program Requirements:
- For the safety of our riders and volunteers, all riders must meet the following criteria:
- Weigh less than 200 pounds in order to be safely dismounted in an emergency
- Have sitting balance (side walkers can’t be asked to support the weight of the rider). If riders have minimum sitting balance, they must weigh 40lbs or less.
- Be at least 4 years old
- Have a disability that is compatible with therapeutic horsemanship and have a therapist or physician to complete a medical form
Click here for registration, program costs, and information.
Our Therapeutic Riding Instructors use equine-based therapy for both active-duty service members and veterans who have returned with physical and mental challenges as a result of their service. The goal of this program is to improve the lives of servicemen and women who have suffered injury in the line of duty, helping them adjust physically and emotionally to their post-war lives.
Horses help veterans learn to develop the relationships they need to reconnect with their communities, each other, and their families. Time spent grooming and riding their horse enhances relationship-building skills, improves ability to trust others, and develops emotional awareness and empathy.
Veteran Program Requirements:
For the safety of our riders and volunteers, all riders must meet the following criteria:
- Weigh less than 200 pounds in order to be safely dismounted in an emergency
- Have sitting balance (side walkers can’t be asked to support the weight of the rider).
- Have a disability that is compatible with therapeutic horsemanship and have a therapist or physician to complete a medical form
- Present proof of service (DD214 form) as part of the application process
How to Apply for the Veteran Program:
- Download and fill out the Rider Registration form.
- Email us scanned copy.
- Applicant will be contacted by our Program Director to discuss any outstanding requirements, obtain proof of service and/or the therapist/physician medical form, and any other information.
We never want cost to be a barrier preventing our riders or participants from experiencing the incredible benefits equine therapy has to offer.
Please call us to discuss lesson costs and details.
