and community organizations. Deputies are able to provide
training as well as onsite live simulations.

The Homeowners Insurance Reduction Program is intended to help homeowners reduce their insurance premiums by qualifying for a Texas Home Security Credit.

Any homeowner may request a homeowners Security Credit Inspection of their residence by contacting the Bexar County Sheriff's Crime Prevention Unit. A Crime Prevention Specialist will perform a security evaluation.

Credits are available for new and existing homeowner policies. Depending upon your insurance carrier, the maximum credit allowed is 20%. If you qualify, you will receive a Premium Reduction Certificate renewable every three (3) years. There are two home credits that a homeowner can qualify for, a 5% credit and a 15% credit.

We work to increase public awareness regarding domestic violence by teaching, training, and speaking in public, private, alternative, and classroom settings, as well as public meetings, open forums, neighborhood meetings, and churches.

We train people in the medical, law enforcement, child protection, social service, religious, corporate, legal, education, and criminal justice fields, as well as community and civic leaders, educating them on issues of domestic violence such as resources available, culturally relevant interventions, appropriate case management, and safety planning. We also focus on the plight as it affects the lives of the youth by educating them about teen dating violence. 

The San Antonio AIDS Foundation provides a continuum of care to low-income HIV-positive men, women and transgender individuals. Our services include resource and benefits assistance, case management, mental health counseling, medical care, pharmacy services, housing, and a year-round hot meal program. We offer onsite and mobile testing for HIV and STDs, as well as HIV prevention education presentations in local public schools, at colleges and universities, adult probation facilities and teen detention programs.

Providing deaf and hard of hearing families with assistive technology such as flashing doorbells, flashing and vibrating alarm clocks, flashing carbon monoxide alarms (CO), flashing smoke detectors and fire alarms. All products help deaf and hard of hearing families to be safe in case of an emergency or fire.

Promoting a Christ honoring environment where people can meet and fellowship, learn and promote firearm safety, and participate in shooting activities/events.  

Help inexperienced students gain the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for safely owning and using a firearm by learning basic fundamentals of gun safety, operation, maintenance, ammunition, and shooting activities.  

Encourage advanced shooters to adhere and promote the fundamentals of firearm safety, with an emphasis on continued advancement of their skills.

In addition to McLennan County, the Family Abuse Center serves Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone, Navarro, and Ellis Counties. In an effort to better serve these 7 counties, the Family Abuse Center intentionally engages these communities through outreach and educational efforts.

Our advocates are frequently in the seven counties building community relationships, advertising the services FAC provides free of charge to domestic violence survivors, and educating groups about domestic violence and its impact on our local communities.
