This hotline was created to help meet the needs of people in the greater San Antonio area who are experiencing street homelessness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
No in-person services are offered at this location.

The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has opened a COVID-19 hotline and website for residents to ask questions about the virus. The hotline is available in English and Spanish.

This temporary program is in response to the impact of COVID-19 on our community.
If you are an essential worker, you may apply for COVID-19 Essential Worker Child Care. This will be short-term child care and is subject to the availability of funds. If you apply and your application is denied, you will not lose your spot on the regular CCS Waitlist.
Please do not submit an application if you:
• Are NOT an Essential Worker
• Are a two-parent family where one parent is NOT an Essential Worker
• Do NOT need Child Care to work in an Essential Occupation

Households with outstanding debt owed to Comcast may be eligible for Internet Essentials. We are waiving this qualification if you apply and are approved by 12/31/20. After 12/31/20, standard eligibility rules apply.

As we’re all dealing with the realities of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we at Senior Planet and Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), the nonprofit that sponsors Senior Planet, want to affirm that the health and safety of all members, participants, trainers, staff, and volunteers is our highest priority. Right now, we’re continuing to monitor the situation, facilitate best practices, provide support, and adjust course as needed to ensure the wellbeing of our community.
Our in-person programs have been suspended, but we are increasing online resources to help our members stay connected.
During the COVID-19 crisis, we are stepping up our online offerings to include lots of interactive classes and activities. Topics include:
- How to stay fit at home (exercise for every age, strength and ability level)
- Arts and crafts
- Holistic health
- How to get the most from the internet (and avoid the rest)

Our walk-in clinic is open for patient care Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
We also provide COVID-19 testing for anyone, by appointment only. Call 210.220.2330 for an appointment for a virtual visit with a provider. Testing will be scheduled at that time, often the same day. Results take about 36 hours.
Extra precautions are in place for your safety.

If your temperature is 99.6 or above, and/or if you are coughing or experiencing other COVID related symptoms, you will not be able to enter the clinic.
If you are not feeling well, we recommend that you call before going to the clinic.

COVID-19 Notice
Critical funds are available to help residents who are struggling to pay rent, utilities, internet, groceries, medicine, and fuel.
This program provides housing (rent or mortgage), utility, and internet assistance to qualifying individuals or families during the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, qualifying individuals or families will receive $150-$300 (based on household size) for food and other necessities through the Family Independence Initiative.
Please review the following eligibility and documentation requirements before beginning the application process.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Be a current resident of the City of San Antonio;
• Be the primary lease or mortgage holder in a multifamily unit, mobile home, or single-family home within the city limits of San Antonio;
• May only apply for rent, mortgage, and utility assistance related to one primary property;
• Have a household income at or below 100% of the area median income (AMI) as defined by HUD; and
• Provide ID and proof of hardship. Acceptable forms of documentation are listed here.

NHSD is open for business. To limit the spread of COVID-19, meetings are held by appointment only until further notice. Call (210) 207-6459 to schedule an appointment.
San Antonio residents struggling to pay rent on a current lease or mortgage due to an unexpected crisis should apply for Emergency Housing Assistance using the online application found here.
The Emergency Housing Assistance Program makes a one-time payment to the landlord or creditor for no more than three consecutive months or $3,5000.
Residents applying for housing assistance are also eligible to have up to $1,500 of their utility and internet bills paid through the program.
Clients approved for the housing assistance through this program are eligible for up to $300 cash assistance for fuel and groceries.
A request does not guarantee financial assistance will be provided.
Please do not submit more than one request for assistance.

Please note that there is limited funding for the special programs, but we are offering a LiftFund COVID-19 loan to assist small businesses during this time.
