Communities In Schools programs surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidence-based approach, adapted to meet each community’s unique needs, is the basis for our success.
Basic Needs: A student cannot focus in the classroom if he or she is hungry, cold or tired, or cannot see the board. Site coordinators see to it that students' basic needs are met each day.
Enrichment: Our Site coordinators enroll students in a wide variety of after-school and summer programs, field trips and youth conferences to help them gain experience that is essential to meeting college and career goals.
Academic Assistance: Our site coordinators work hard to ensure that students have the resources to progress academically. From providing students with tutors to finding and creating quiet spaces where students can study, we do whatever it takes to create an optimal learning environment for our students.
Life Skills: Through one-on-one workshops, team building, and guest speakers, we work with students to develop social-emotional learning, character education, social skills building, and conflict resolution.
Behavioral Interventions: Many of our students face and overcome difficult obstacles in their lives. However, their survival skills aren’t always effective in the classroom or in the workplace. Our program teaches students positive ways to cope with anger, conflict resolution, and other strategies to keep them focused on school.
Family Engagement: Site coordinators connect families with counselors and social workers to make sure that home is a healthy, nurturing environment where a student can feel safe.
This program is for students at CAST STEM High School.

Country Home Learning Center offers a highly successful Excel program that incorporates a truly accelerated environment, degreed or CDA certified teachers and exceptionally small classes. The Country Home Excel Program is accredited by AdvancED and aligned with state standards for public school kindergarten. With only 14 students per class, our Country Home Excel Program is almost one-half the size of most public school Kindergarten classes! In addition to our extra-curricular activities listed below, our Excel students enjoy various educational and fun field trips. They are also introduced to reading and 1st-grade math during the second semester.
At Country Home, we offer a distinctly innovative environment for our children. We do not limit our program to one teaching venue or method, but rather provide a virtual banquet of educational choices. Our wonderful facility allows us to leave our classroom each day and explore various themed rooms (specialized areas). Each area encompasses unique opportunities and equipment for challenging "hands-on" learning and fun exploration into the world of science, math, computers, language development, dramatic and creative arts. Our Excel students spend fun-filled educational days on the move participating in activities that stimulate their creativity and spur their imagination!
Since our students have lots of planned activities, we know communication with our parents is important. Age-specific Monthly Highlights showcase selected weekly curriculum activities. School-wide monthly newsletters notify parents of special events and other important information. Country Home Report Cards (four times per year) and regularly-scheduled parent/teacher conferences focusing on our Excel Program’s Developmental Checklist help recognize and celebrate each child’s accomplishments. Our annual holiday Open House brings school and families together for a very special evening!
Our 5-Year-Old/Excel program includes the following areas:
- Language Arts
- Reading and Phonics
- Mathematics
- Computers
- Science and Geography
- Writing
- Social Studies
- Spanish

- Music and Creative Movement
- Physical Fitness and Gym
- Practical Life Skills
- Positive Self-Concept and Social Development Activities
Through all of our varied learning activities, we emphasize our most important objective: to provide our students with many opportunities to succeed every day. Frequent successes in young children promote self-confidence and a higher self-esteem, which are vital to the learning process as the child grows. Our goal is to help each child become an inquisitive, happy, successful and confident young student.

Often, a therapist for a child with special needs will attend the gym with the children to observe and provide their therapy while using the equipment in our gym. This allows kids the access they want to the amazing gear. First Baptist Church founded its Christian day school in 1979 by establishing a first grade which later grew until it had established classes through the 8th grade. A nursery school and kindergarten had begun in 1969 establishing a base for the subsequent grades. Today, the Academy ministers to over 400 students – three year old through the 12th grade.
The Academy, three year old through 8th grade, is an out-reach ministry to families in the greater Randolph area and surrounding communities. The purpose of its high school, however, is to disciple young believers as they grow to Christian maturity.
The Academy seeks to supplement, not supplant the parental role and its responsibility. Students are encouraged to appreciate both their Christian and American heritage of freedom and human dignity, a gift from God.
Self-discipline is fostered in students based on respect and reverence to God and all authority. The Academy seeks to teach and guide students into a relationship with Jesus Christ and submission to His authority in their lives.
