The partial hospitalization program (PHP), also known as day treatment, allows children to spend the day receiving care from mental health professionals and then return home during the evening. In PHP, kids who are struggling can get the help they need while minimizing interruptions to their family life.
PHP allows us to observe and understand firsthand the challenges the child is facing. This midground option is also effective for children who have been previously hospitalized and still need close monitoring.

- Ages: 6 to 17
- The typical stay is 10 to 15 days.
- Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary team of child specialists with psychiatry visits several times a week.

- serious coping problems
- other emotional and behavioral problems

Most health insurance providers pay for partial treatment; however, you may need to demonstrate that outpatient treatment was tried first.
