Many people are hurting; they feel their own brokenness and/or have problems in relationships. Others are concerned about their loved one's pain and suffering. Unresolved previous trauma continues to haunt people like a tattoo that cannot be washed off; it complicates relationships. My goals for clients include not only alleviating suffering, but also developing healthy attitudes and behaviors that promote mental, spiritual, and physical well-being so that they will thrive. I strive to facilitate healing for my clients - healing within them and healing in their relationships. While respecting my clients' beliefs, I practice counseling from a Christian worldview and strive to integrate traditional counseling approaches with Christian spirituality.

Common problems that clients bring to me include relationship problems with their spouse or significant other, their children, child behavior problems, depression, anxiety, grief, past trauma, addictions, and problems adjusting to changes in life. I work with couples, families, individuals, adolescents, and children. Clients are encouraged to establish SMART goals, i.e. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time Limited goals. We work together to accomplish these goals. I see myself as a companion who walks with my client(s) with the goal of their achieving self-sufficiency as soon as possible. It would be my privilege to work with you to achieve your goals.

Are you lonely and hurting (Intimacy and passion are dying out)? Do you find yourself arguing over and over about the same things or issues (Children, in-laws, money, sex, time, and/or power)? Are addictive behaviors playing havoc with your relationship? Do you find yourselves going in different directions on many issues?

The goal of couple counseling is to facilitate healing and unity so that you can overcome your obstacles and achieve the closeness and intimacy that you desire. My goal is to provide compassionate counseling to help couples rediscover friendship and intimacy, learn how to respectfully disagree, and build a life of shared meaning together.

I provide counseling from the Christian worldview while being respectful of your religious beliefs. The client in couple counseling is the couple, both of you together, as distinct from individual counseling, which is also available.
