Couples Therapy:

Whether you are married, dating, or living together, you and your partner can benefit from couples therapy. Couples therapy uses psychotherapeutic techniques to address a couple’s dynamic in both individual and couple sessions.

Any couple can benefit from couples therapy. It is a common misconception to think that only couples on the edge of a breakup need this form of therapy. Many perfectly healthy couples attend couples therapy so that they can proactively work on maintaining balance and happiness in their relationship.

Family Counseling:

When a family wants to work on improving communication and the ties that bind them together, they often turn to family counseling. Family counseling never focuses one one person, but rather the group dynamic as a whole. Patients can participate in group family sessions as well as in individual sessions that address the family dynamic. Family counseling is typically strengths-based, meaning it focuses on the assets of each family member rather than their deficits.

A full range of psychotherapeutic, consultation, and psychopharmacological treatments are available. Some of our providers also offer a variety of seminars and workshops to the public, employers, and schools within the San Antonio community.

Telemental Health Services:

Alamo Mental Health Group does offer telemental health services. Telemental health is simply a way of receiving mental health care, including evaluations, medication, patient education, and/or therapy through electronic means whereby you and your provider are in two different locations. Video sessions are accessed through a secure video conferencing platform that is encrypted and compliant with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Children and teens can benefit from talking with a licensed therapist. Providers will adjust techniques to meet your child's maturity and needs.
