Hotlines and Virtual Assistance

Through the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics (MFC) at Endeavors, we offer discreet online video counseling sessions from the comfort of your home or office. Receive care outside of the clinic.

The same high-quality care available at an Endeavors Cohen Clinic is also available via a computer, tablet, or phone. You and your family can receive therapy in the privacy and comfort of your own home via our online therapy option. This allows you and your clinician to have appointments in real time through video-conferencing. At Endeavors Cohen Clinics, we use secure, private HIPAA-compliant video conferencing software to ensure confidential services.

This program serves veterans and their families, regardless of role, discharge status, or ability to pay.

Endeavors offers a free parenting enrichment program for all veterans, National Guardsmen, reserve, and active military parents with children 0 -17 years who are interested in cultivating and understanding their own parenting style. Classes include take-home resources, skills, and techniques during each session.

During each session, our goal is to:

  • Build strong, healthy relationships
  • Provide positive change for problem behaviors
  • Prepare for school achievement
  • Reduce family stress

Our Veteran Services program offers Homelessness Prevention and Stabilization Services to Veterans and their families in Texas. These supportive services include outreach, case management, help in obtaining VA benefits, emergency financial assistance for rent and utilities and assistance in obtaining and coordinating other public benefits.

Endeavors provides services to very low income Veteran families, Veterans facing eviction, and/or Veterans currently homeless and scheduled to move into housing within 90 days. Our goal is to rapidly re-house or prevent homelessness for Veterans and their families and enhance independent living skills and/or Income for very low-income Veteran families.

We provide the following services through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) at low to no cost:

  • Case Management
    o Development of a Housing Stability Plan
    o Assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits
    o Referrals to Community Agencies
  • Emergency Financial Assistance for rent and utilities (based on financial need)
    o Referrals for financial counseling and legal assistance
  • Job placement assistance
  • Parenting programs
  • Skills Workshops

Eligibility:

  • Low-income Veteran families
  • Veterans facing eviction
  • Veterans currently homeless and scheduled to move into housing within 90 days

Endeavors provides permanent supportive housing, case management, professional counseling, life skills training, and employment opportunities for chronically homeless women in San Antonio with disabilities and their children so that they can achieve a life full of stability, success, and self-sufficiency in an apartment-style campus.

We provide the following services through Fairweather Family Lodge:

  • A safe, healthy, stable, and secure place to live
  • Life skills training in parenting, finance, conflict resolution, relationship, problem-solving, leadership, and other social interaction issues
  • Assistance in meeting educational needs of school-age children
  • Symptom management
  • Case management services
  • Individualized assessments

Located in San Antonio, Endeavors longest running program provides permanent supportive housing to individuals with mental illness. Fairweather Lodge not only provides permanent supportive housing, but also case management and life skills training so that individuals with mental illness can achieve a life full of stability, success, and self-sufficiency.

The goals for this program include:

  • Providing a safe, healthy, stable, and caring environment
  • Increasing self-sufficiency through life-skills training and proper referrals for education and work attainment

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Axis I mental health diagnosis from a licensed professional
  • Stable and medication compliant for at least 30 days
  • Be able to pay a monthly program fee
  • Willing to work, volunteer, or attend school for 15 hours per week
  • Remain drug-and-alcohol-free for at least 30 days

If you are currently experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless, Homelink can help by assessing your situation and connecting you with the most appropriate housing resource.

After enrolling with Homelink, if your need is not met by an immediate referral, you must maintain your eligibility every 30 days. This will be explained further during your Homelink assessment.

The Community Housing Assistance Program - Texas Emergency Mortgage Program is now offering funds to Texans who are recovering from the financial impacts of COVID-19.

Eligible individuals and families who are struggling to pay their mortgages will receive up to six consecutive months with at least one future mortgage payment, including principal, interest, taxes, and insurance.

  • must own a property in an eligible location
  • must have a household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
  • must be in arrears on eligible mortgages.

If you meet initial qualifications, Endeavors will contact you to obtain more information via email or phone call. (We are currently experiencing a high volume of applications. You may experience a three-week wait time for application processing.)

Prevention is a coordinated homelessness prevention and eviction response system to help low-income households resolve a crisis that could otherwise lead to a loss of housing. Common prevention methods include short-term financial assistance, legal assistance, housing case management, etc. Below are the specific details for this prevention program:  

  • Past due, current and up to 3 months of expected rent costs
  • Past due, current or up to 3 months of expected utility and home energy expenses
  • After the initial 3 months of forward assistance, you can apply for 3 additional months of assistance if funds are still available.

Income must be at or below 80% area median income. Applicant must be at risk of homelessness with eviction notice, qualified for unemployment or atest to reduction in household income, and live in unsafe or unhealthy housing conditions.

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors provides high-quality, accessible, and integrated mental health care to veterans and their families, regardless of role, discharge status, or ability to pay.

The Cohen Clinics are Veterans Choice Providers and use evidence-based practices to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families. Services are provided by credentialed staff trained to work specifically with the military population. Veterans and their family members receive services individually and together in the same place, at the same time, with the same treatment team.

More than just mental health care, our Military Family Clinics help veteran families with support and referrals for related needs, including unemployment, housing, finance, and education.

All veterans and their families are eligible, regardless of role, discharge status, or ability to pay.
