Adoption, abandonment, child advocacy and welfare present unique challenges and issues that require a particular understanding, empathy and compassion to address.
The presence and love of God for those who are forgotten and discarded purposefully is in acute and constant demand. Jesus is there for them all, but the guilt, shame and secrets perpetuated by families can be oppressive and cruel. I believe it is all in my calling to reach, teach, love and lead in this topic.
This group meets virtually on Zoom.

Contemplative Arts comprise a number of secular disciplines and activities, including flower arranging and photography, that integrate art and culture with everyday life. Each of these disciplines represents a genuine contemplative path; together they bring beauty, vividness, and wisdom to our lives and culture.
Shambhala Art is art that springs from clear perception and pure expression. To artist or non-artist, the creative process often seems mysterious and magical. How do we give a physical reality to some ephemeral inspiration or abstract truth? How do we create forms that communicate some essential nature beyond the limits of their container? The Shambhala Art Program’s purpose is to explore the creative process and the product we call art from the point of view of clear perception and pure expression. It is about the source of inspiration, how the creative process manifests and finally how what we create communicates that inspiration.

As a community of faith in Jesus Christ, we believe we are called to a reconciling relationship with God, with one another, and with the world beyond our walls.
In our worship, we:
- Value excellent preaching and music which engage people spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally,
- Project the message of the gospel as a healing and empowering force in the world,
- Celebrate our roots in the Reformed tradition, remaining open to the reforming process so that the core truths remain relevant in our time and place, and
- Seek to integrate Biblical scholarship, sound contemporary reference, traditional and contemporary music, and liturgical expression into a Reformed order of worship.

We aspire to unconditionally benefit all beings (including ourselves) in each moment, with awareness, energy, lovingkindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, relaxing with what it is to realize awakening. Please do not imagine that you must develop all of these qualities before you sit with us. It is called “sitting practice,” not “sitting perfection.”
As part of San Antonio Zen Center’s goal to make the dharma accessible to everyone, our regularly scheduled sits and Saturday program will be available via Zoom.
Click here for our weekly schedule and Zoom information.
This is a mini-retreat geared toward new meditators, people who want to sit for a longer period of time without attending a full retreat, or even people who have limited time. The retreat consists of shorter sits alternating with walking meditation. We’ll have time for tea and questions at the end of the retreat. Please sign up at SAZC.

4 Things We Do https://www.northrocksa.com/about-2/ -
- Connect to God - We exist to CONNECT people to Jesus and NorthRock: Our first purpose as a church is to help the spiritually disconnected, connect with Jesus.
- Grow Your Faith - We exist to GROW in our faith together: Discipleship growth is helping believers attain spiritual maturity.
- Discover Your Design - We exist to DISCOVER our design: Discover what God has created you to be and do. Design reveals destiny.
- Live Your Purpose - We exist to LIVE out our purpose: Step into your purpose for God’s Kingdom. This is what “life [re]defined” looks like. Investing in others above yourself.
At NorthRock Church in Midtown, we exist to see lives redefined. Every Sunday, we have church services where you can experience uplifting worship music, encouraging messages from our pastors, a special kids program, and opportunities for you to get connected —and it all starts here!
