Welcome to our Group. Devotees gather weekly to participate in group meditations and to join in divine fellowship.

Paramahansa Yogananda said:

“Group meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”

We welcome all to our weekly services.

Paramahansa Yogananda founded Self-Realization Fellowship in the 1920's to teach Kriya Yoga in the West. Meditation is beneficial for the mind, body and soul.

The Shambhala Meditation Center of San Antonio is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and now led by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Our center offers public meditation, a core curriculum of Shambhala Buddhist teachings, as well as training in advanced contemplative practices. We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.

The Interfaith Welcome Coalition (IWC) is a faith-based movement meeting the changing needs of asylum seekers, refugees and at-risk immigrants in collaboration with others, making San Antonio a welcoming community for refugees.

What We Do

  • We respond to the needs as they present themselves and as they change.
  • We provide basic support to people on their journey.
  • We educate and advocate to change the systems that impact immigrants.
  • We pray in community.

Who We Help

We currently help many asylum seekers. These are migrants who have begun their asylum application, and are still awaiting the official grant of asylum by a judge. The people we help usually come from Latin America and Africa (as of July 2019).

Our Goals

  • Recruit volunteers and provide funding for IWC service programs that serve the immigrant community.
  • Educate ourselves and others on immigration issues.
  • Allocate funds to provide material support for asylum seekers and at-risk immigrants.
  • Become aware of organizations which work with at-risk immigrants, collaborate with them and support their work.
  • Engage in advocacy activities related to migrant populations.

My name is Amy and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in San Antonio, Texas. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio, my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Oregon, and I am fully licensed to practice counseling by the state of Texas (Licensed Professional Counselor License #82294).

Life is complicated. Our bodies, minds, and relational worlds are connected in ways both seen and unseen. I am a counselor because I believe that the more we understand the layers of ourselves, our experiences and where we come from, the better equipped we are to navigate pain and challenges as they arise.

I have extensive experience working in both school and community settings with children, adolescents, young adults and couples managing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and interpersonal concerns. In my practice, I specialize in therapy for teens and young adults

The congregation plans to grow...

Grow in numbers. The Lord gave a commission to the church – make disciples of all nations – this is a command for all churches to obey. We will obey together with all the others.

Grow in spiritual maturity. The Lord does not want spiritual babies. We must grow and develop into mature Christians so that His Kingdom will be established on earth.
