St. Philip's provides a welcoming inclusive community for anyone seeking a deeper connection with God, self, and others. Our long history in Uvalde, dating back to 1881, has helped shape and form us to be the church that we are today: a place of beauty, spiritual depth and learning, love and friendship, as well as a church that helps lead and influence the community of Uvalde. St. Philip's has become known as "the church that helps others."
Philip's Closet provides clothing and household items to those in need. We are often able to provide gently used items and when we are not we purchase the needed items. Much of this work is coordinated through various social service agencies here in Uvalde.
Philip's Closet is open to the public to anyone in need of clothing.
Free.
The Uvalde Food Pantry was an initiative of St. Philip's as we saw a great need to provide a central place to assist those who experienced food insecurity. It has now become a community wide project to help provide food to the hungry. The pantry is open once a week on Saturday mornings and currently provides food for over 400 families per week.
