The San Antonio Housing Trust is committed to creating and preserving housing that is primarily affordable, accessible, attainable, and/or sustainable to residents in the City of San Antonio; and to support community development efforts that build and sustain neighborhoods, empower residents, and provide for positive equitable outcomes.
The primary purposes and goals of this Trust are to provide additional and continuing housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income families; to promote public health, safety, convenience, and welfare by mitigating the extent to which San Antonio’s low- and moderate-income households are unable to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing within the City of San Antonio; and to revitalize neighborhood and downtown through appropriate housing activities.
The San Antonio Housing Trust (SAHT) provides works through a variety of tools to create and preserve housing that is affordable, accessible, sustainable, and attainable. Specifically, we provide grants and low-interest loans along with the utilization of tax-exempt bonds, property tax/sales tax exemptions, and other creative financing mechanisms in partnership with various housing non-profits and for-profit housing providers to meet the programmatic vision set forth in our five-year strategic plan.
From time to time, the SA Housing Trust will issue either a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) or a Request for Proposals (RFP) outlining the specific form of engagement SAHT is seeking such as a grant or loan award or for a potential partnership.
