Betty Elam Brauner is the founder and president of the Brauner Foundation Inc. She was a special consultant to the  "America at Worship" series, a Faith and Values program that aired on the Hallmark Channel. She was on the Board of Trustees of the National Interfaith Cable Coaltition, Inc., and is an original trustee.

Currently, she is fully committed to the Brauner Foundation and its ultimate goal of allowing anyone in need of assistance, in any way shape or form, an opportunity to reach their goals.

Our mission is to support families and students in need of assistance to achieve goals, as much as possible.

We are achieving our mission by providing scholarships for education and training programs that can lead to employment.

This is possible through our many connections with local San Antonio businesses and media companies.

KJ/Lisa Community Gardens is a program of the Brauner Foundation Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

We are looking to support new and already existing vegetable-based gardens. It is suggested that the garden sites should start or be around 6 ft. x 9 ft. Consider the size of the crops you are interested in growing, as well as how much time you are willing to devote to the upkeep of your garden.

This project offers small grants that support community vegetable gardens. By supporting small vegetable gardens, we could help promote healthy living throughout our communities.

If you are starting or maintaining a garden, write a detailed proposal, timeline, and budget for your garden and submit it to [email protected] for grant consideration. Please allow 2-3 weeks for us to get back to you.
