We are a dynamic group of saints and sinners who are working at stripping away our old selves. It's not always pretty and it is often painful but with a group of friends at your side and love and support we can be free from the struggles of this world...free from shame, abuse, addiction and sin. There are no perfect people at North Shore UMC. We follow scripture as our guide to rebuilding lives and changing the world. We pray for and with one another. Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in participating congregations. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers-called Stephen Ministers-to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
Male and female Stephen Ministers are paired with male and female Care Receivers respectively. Confidentiality is key to the ministry. Stephen Ministers receive support through supervision, continuing education, and coaching on a monthly basis.
Stephen Ministry is open to the public; church membership is not required.
