The Goodwood (formerly SA Heals) is a non-profit organization that fights poverty by creating opportunity on San Antonio's Eastside. We are a ministry of presence rooted in relationships that seeks to build a beloved community.
Our vision is to see God restore and redeem our neighborhood on San Antonio's Eastside and inspire others to do the same in neighborhoods across the city. We want to form a family of people who want and need to love louder.

Affordable Christmas gives families on the Eastside of San Antonio the opportunity to provide Christmas gifts for their children in a way that preserves dignity and promotes empowerment.
The GoodHood collects brand-new toys and cash donations (which we use to purchase more gifts) to create a store and the toys are priced at approximately 1/10 of the original retail value.
Families from our neighborhood are invited to shop for their children at the store before Christmas. Parents are able to pick out the perfect gifts and become heroes to their kids on Christmas morning.

The GoodHood Immersions are designed to decrease the distance between people and places. Many of the problems facing our city are caused by a failure to see one another clearly.
During the Immersion, you will get the opportunity to spend time with new people, in a new place and get a new perspective on the Eastside of San Antonio. After a half-day of walking, talking, and eating, you will not only be able to see people and places differently but you will also be able to decrease the distance that divides us.
