I Care San Antonio (ICSA) is a faith-based, medical non-profit organization. The I Care Vision Center, located at Haven for Hope, is the leading free vision clinic in San Antonio and is managed primarily by 40 volunteer doctors who continue to provide complete eye care, including medical, optical and surgical, to those who cannot afford it. I Care San Antonio is the only center of its kind in the U.S. that provides such a complete circle of eye care.
The Get FIT (Families in Training) program is a preventive program aimed at averting Type II diabetes, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles for school-aged children and their families.
The program is offered throughout the academic year at various school districts, and in the summer as a one-month youth summer camp. Get FIT integrates nutrition, physical fitness, and character education to not only support the physical needs of students and their families but also facilitate the healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
Get FIT's goal is to transform the lives of people in medically underserved, rural communities. The program focuses on actively engaging community members and stakeholders in the planning, designing, and delivery of services and programs that meet the unmet needs of their community.
Get FIT is currently offered in Batesville, Cotulla, San Antonio, Santa Rosa, and Uvalde. Enrollment is free and open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in bringing Get FIT to your school or finding a program near you, call the Get FIT manager at 1-800-959-6673.

Volunteers are the key to our success. Thanks to our volunteer optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians, I Care San Antonio is improving lives by providing complete eye care, including medical, surgical and optical to those in need. In 2020 our volunteer team donated over $900,000 worth of care. We also have volunteer opportunities for community helpers to assist with patient navigation, clinic paperwork and special projects. Please let us know if you are interested in joining this outstanding group of volunteers.
