Together with our partner, the San Antonio Food Bank, we work hard to offer fresh produce, meat, dairy as well as all other essential needs for our participants. SA Hope Center is thrilled to maintain our Mercadito (food pantry) to the highest degree of cleanliness and organizational standards to serve our program participants well. Our mercadito follows the national “My Plate” food model.
Mercadito allows the head-of-household to walk-through and shop (for free) the items that best fit their family size and nutritional needs. To shop in our Mercadito, current program participants are encouraged to make an appointment with their mentor.

This program serves students working towards their GED, ESL, and certification classes such as administrative assistant, CNA, phlebotomy, IT, etc. All Restore Education students are eligible.

Our partnership with nonprofit partners allows instructors to provide classes at our location and we provide a case manager to meet with students at their location to provide any needed one-on-one mentoring.
We offer GED study-prep and test-taking at our main location. With classes and tutoring offered four days a week, accessibility is readily open.
This program provides one-on-one case management services for anyone seeking employment or higher-paying employment. Job Fairs and job workshops are frequently offered on-site to connect participants with hiring employers.
Career Readiness strives to provide participants with workforce development to help them obtain better jobs and ensure family economic stability. Support Services include; one-to-one case management, job fairs, and job workshops.

Qualifying program participants can receive partial financial assistance for childcare services.
Below are the requirements for assistance:
- Participate in Parent Engagement Activities to include parenting courses. (monthly).
- Meet with Mentor. (monthly)
- Report any changes in work or attendance at a job training or educational program.
- Report any changes in family income or family size.
Partial tuition assistance is available to families experiencing difficulties maintaining employment while paying for childcare services. The scale below will be used to help determine a family’s weekly childcare tuition rate for one child.
All funds are given upon availability.

At the SA Hope Center, our hope is to provide educational financial literacy to support financial stability in our community.
In partnership with STCH Ministries, we offer Faith and Finances classes. Faith & Finances is a life skills training based on Biblical principles for money management. The topics include spending plans, managing debt, setting savings goals, and preparing for the future. It is here that participants get more in-depth about aspects of financial stability. Classes are offered in both English and Spanish to meet the needs of our program participants.

Homelink is San Antonio and Bexar County’s local Coordinated Entry System – a uniform, community-wide approach to connect persons who are literally homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness to housing resources.
These are mobile or physical community locations providing fair and equal access to Homelink to persons experiencing or at risk of homelessness. A Homelink enrollment or assessment is initiated by walking into or calling any of these access points during designated times.

The Housing Assistance Program (HAP)* provides financial assistance to renters experiencing emergency hardships from COVID-19 and to keep families in their homes. To help with emergency housing needs, HAP has two components: rental assistance and relocation assistance for qualified households facing housing instability.

CHRC offers year-round health programming thanks to our partnership with the UT Health and Science Center San Antonio School of Nursing.
UTHSCSA Nursing Students visit CHRC’s campus once a week to provide health screenings, to teach classes on important health topics such as glucose, cholesterol, diabetes, and folic acid, and to answer questions about health concerns. This is truly an impactful partnership; clients gain clarity on their health concerns and the nursing students gain hands-on experience working with patients.

Opportunity Home offers a limited amount of Emergency Housing Vouchers for families who need immediate assistance because they are experiencing homelessness or domestic violence and are referred by the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless (SARAH).
Our food pantry service allows the head-of-household to walk through our pantry and shop for items that best fit their family size and nutritional needs.
Together with our partner, the San Antonio Food Bank, we work hard to offer fresh produce, meat, dairy as well as all other essential needs for our participants.
To shop monthly in our Participant Choice Food Pantry, participation in one or more of our mentorship programs is required. Participants are also required to make an appointment with their mentor.
Non-participants in SAHC One-On-One Case Management can visit once a year.
Every participant in our programs is able to receive monthly food assistance. Program participants are encouraged to make an appointment with their mentor.
Anyone not enrolled in SAHC programs may come for assistance once a year. Walk-ins welcome.

The SA Hope Center partners with flexible programs and curriculum that can help you with parenting support and resources. We also work with a program that meets CPS requirements for parenting courses.
In tandem with other community partners, we value ourselves as a support system and resource for parents in the San Antonio area. Our parenting class, Parent University, is facilitated each week with the Raising Highly Capable Kids (RHCK) curriculum. This is a 13 week course and the topics discussed are the 40 Developmental Assets, both external and internal assets.
Classes are offered in both English and Spanish on a weekly basis.

Our spiritual care services are available to active program participants and staff. It is led by Pastor Bob Escamilla, who has on-site appointments at all locations and is available to provide prayer, hospital visits, and funeral services as requested by program participants.

Helping renters who are behind on rent or utility bills. The Texas Rent Relief Program has helped over 300,000 Texans.
COVID-19 has affected Texans across the state. We’ve provided over $2B in emergency funds to help Texas renters pay rent and utility bills (including past due rent and utilities).

Be part of something meaningful and special, in a place where you can put your talents to work for the better good.
Food Pantry: Consists of stocking canned food, unloading pallets of canned food, organizing the food on shelves, and placing food orders inside the vehicles of our clients.
Programs: Teaching a class or group. (Financial Management, Parenting, Education, Career, Senior Series, or other classes.) Being willing to make phone calls, make copies, and type up documents for case management purposes.
Clothing Closet: Help sort, organize donated items, and manage our clothes closet. Build one one-on-one relationships with clients as you guide them through the shopping experience.
Senior Food Box Distribution: Each month we distribute a 40-lb box of food to 175-200 senior citizens in our community. A group of 10 individuals helps with distributing boxes, setting up/putting away, and traffic control. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to sign up at [email protected] or call (210) 640-2879.
Compassion Crew: Spend time with our program participants in the lobby. Interact with families and children waiting for their appointments or to receive their services. Preparing coffee and sweets for participants in the lobby to enjoy. Pray with participants who need prayer
Community Garden: We would like a few vegetables to be grown in, watered, and cared for daily. If you have experience gardening we would be grateful for any help in helping our vegetables/plants grow.
Miscellaneous: Any small projects or tasks such as painting, carpentry, special monthly projects, or other handyman tasks.
