San Antonio Community Resource Directory
Jewish Federation of San Antonio (Nonprofit / Jewish )

Founded in 1922, the Jewish Federation is dedicated to building a strong Jewish community in San Antonio and worldwide through its annual campaign, and by providing quality opportunities for Jewish individuals and families.

Ronit Sherwin - Chief Executive Officer

The Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio opened its doors to the public at its current location in May 2000, however; Holocaust education has been an ongoing priority of the San Antonio Jewish community for more than forty years.

Today thousands of students annually visit the museum where they are provided with a docent-led tour explaining the history of this time period, view a movie or participate in a meaningful activity and hear a Holocaust survivor’s testimony.

The Holocaust Memorial Museum can accommodate group tours of up to 200 participants in the Fall and Spring (September-May) and 100 participants during the Summer (June-August) Tours last approximately 2-4 hours depending on group size.

Due to the graphic nature of the content depicted in the Museum, tour requests will be accepted for grades 6 and up. For 5th-grade groups, special consideration is taken to ensure the students are prepared for the subject matter and visual depiction of the Holocaust. Exceptions will not be made for 4th grade or below.

A donation of $1 per student and $3 per adult is recommended.

Together, we are the heart of the Jewish community. Our tradition says, “We are all responsible for one another,” and with this in mind, there is no better choice for philanthropy than the Jewish Federation, as no investment touches more Jewish lives. Each new donor and each increased dollar has a direct impact on enhancing Jewish life and taking care of those in need. Your gift, collectively with many others, provides support to agencies in San Antonio, Israel, and around the world.
