First Baptist Church is a body of baptized believers whose collective passion is to exalt and worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in spirit and in truth to prepare God’s people for the training of the saints. We worship so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith, in attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ, to seek the lost and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Despite being one of the economically poorest districts in Texas, Somerset taxpayers are exceedingly generous when it comes to providing funds for education. Their approval of various bond issues over the years has ensured that the district remains current in educational facilities, educational programs, and educational opportunities for its students.
The Somerset ISD Education Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representative of the community and is a 501 © (3) nonprofit tax-exempt charitable organization. The Foundation is a separate legal entity and is governed by state and federal law separate from the school district. While the foundation operates independently of SISD, it shares the district’s vision of enhancing education and student achievement.

The Tobit Ministry responds to the death of those who lived on the street by facilitating their burial in a dignified and reverent manner that is respectful of their particular faith and culture. The Tobit Garden is a sacred space for visitors to encounter the personal story of each individual interred. Schoenstatt is a Roman Catholic International Movement that strives to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the example and guidance of Blessed Mother Mary. She is at the heart of the movement and is very active in the Schoenstatt shrine, a place, of grace and source of life for our spirituality and work.
Schoenstatt is deeply Marian and has repeatedly experienced how this spiritual love opens new avenues to a vibrant relationship with Christ, to the Holy Spirit, to God the Father and to a renewal of love of neighbor and self.
Schoenstatt is a religious center, a place of pilgrimage, a shrine dedicated to Mary. The first Shrine-located in Germany near Colbence on the Rhine-became Our Lady’s place of grace in 1914. Throughout the years, many such shrines have been erected across the world, each of them an exact replica of the Mother Shrine. They are the spiritual centers of the international Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt.
Schoenstatt serves thousands of visitors to the Cor Unum in Patre shrine, Mount Schoenstatt center and Hope Religious store, located in Helotes, Texas, yearly. In nearby San Antonio, a city Wayside shrine is located on Ave Maria Street. All are open daily through the generous commitment of dozens of volunteers.

Prayer: We believe in the power of prayer.
Grace: We believe that God’s abundant grace is at work among us and we are the instruments that God uses to put that grace into action.
Family: We recognize we are all part of God’s family. We see the influence family has on our lives and community. We strive to provide opportunities for all God’s family to grow into all that God wants them to be. We have a place for every one of God’s children.
Outreach: We seek to engage and develop all people into devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
Mission: We seek to serve people in the name of Jesus Christ, showing that they are precious children of God. They are valued and loved.
