The HOPE International for Community Development has a heart for underserved communities in San Antonio, Texas and other parts of the world. Alamo Gospel Acts 2:38 Ministries (Faith / Christian )

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We are born-again Christians, filled with the Spirit of God, baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. We are founded upon the doctrine of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone.

The Lord has delivered many from their sins, from many different walks of life.

We are an outreach ministry, touching many lives through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We hope you will visit and fellowship with us as we worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth.

Providence Place (Nonprofit )

The story of Providence Place began in 1895 when Madame Volino, the owner of a San Antonio brothel, experienced a life-changing conversion and committed her home as a rescue mission for vulnerable women and helped them place their babies for adoption.

Since then, Providence Place has placed more than 6,000 children in loving homes. Providence Place is a professional adoption agency fully licensed by the state of Texas and recognized as a pioneer in open adoption with a reputation for integrity.

In addition, we are a unique non-profit that has been in existence since 1895. We support young adults with disabilities, helping young families become better informed about child care, and provide a safe haven for women who have survived human trafficking, sexual assault and domestic violence. We are centered in God’s love, having been called by God to care for those in need.

“Let me give you a new command:  Love one another.  In the same way I loved you, love one another.  This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples – when they see the love you have for each other.”  John 13:34-35 (The Message)

Now Word Covenant Church (Faith / Christian )

We teach God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Our desire is not to have an endless theological dispute about the essential truths of the gospel. We understand that through Christian history, there has been diversity in doctrine, and it will continue to be so until that which is perfect (Jesus Christ) comes to complete what we know and practice in part.

We want everyone to know God through an ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Hello, my name is Katie and I am the founder of Katie's Roadside Rescue. There are often dogs dumped on the dead end road where I work on the outskirts of San Antonio. I could not stand to watch their plight of often being ran off, left to fend for themselves, starve or get ran over so I decided to start a rescue of my own.

Katie's Roadside Rescue is a no kill 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of rescuing dogs left to fend for themselves. If they cannot be caught, at a minimum food and water is left for them. KRR currently does not accept owner surrenders nor do we pull from kill shelters. There seems to be plenty on the side of the road at this time.

Iglesia Familia Cristiana (Faith / Christian )
Each member is a minister. Therefore, our commitment is to raise a generation that will leave its mark. Committing ourselves to the great commandment and the great commission, to be a great church, following the purpose of loving God and loving people, serving God and serving people.

AARO has the exempt purpose to decrease suffering from Alzheimer's disease in America. There are things that can help people to age without developing memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease. Our work is to bring that information into more public awareness by providing information services that will help people learn what risk factors they may have that lead to developing Alzheimer’s disease. Through awareness and management of risk factors, results can be achieved that will decrease the number of people who actually develop Alzheimer’s disease, or at least delay the onset of the disease.

The club was chartered on May 23, 1969 and originally met at Central Park Mall.

Our biggest project is a contract bingo operation. Every penny that we make in that operation is donated to various organizations in our area and includes programs for schools. Our club has donated over $100,000 to these organizations, as well as donations to Lions Clubs International for the Sight First program for the blind.

Central Park Lions support over forty community service programs, including large donations to Any Baby Can, St. Peter's Home, St. Joseph's Home, Jefferson Outreach and other organizations. In addition, the club provides college scholarships.

We are assisting the Winston School through the Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic program and are in the process of approaching the school on starting a Leo Club with the students.

We have both male and female members in our club and we are always interested in finding new members who are service oriented and have a desire to help the less fortunate in our city.

Anyone interested in joining, please contact us by phone or email.

Green Beret Foundation (Community )

Recognizing gaps in immediate support to and in the continuity of care for injured Green Berets, Aaron Anderson, himself a Special Forces Warrior wounded in battle, founded the Green Beret Foundation in 2009.

For eleven years, the Foundation has grown significantly in terms of size, support from the community, and most importantly, in impact. We have provided direct assistance to nearly 13,000 Green Berets and their families as they navigate the challenges of their new lives, and have invested 87 cents of every dollar raised back to the Green Beret community.

While the GBF will continue to focus on our wounded, their families, and the families of our fallen, we are working to broaden our impact into addressing the needs of Green Berets as they transition back into civilian life.

Our Programs:

  • Casualty Support
  • Health and Wellness Support
  • Transition Support
  • Family Support
  • Gold Star
