Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church (Faith / Christian )

Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church (AHPC) is a local San Antonio area congregation with a global consciousness. Come visit us and see for yourself how one congregation celebrates the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, in an informal, informative, and innovative way.

Rev. Dr. Richard Knott stimulates church members by posing thought-provoking questions designed to expand the spiritual consciousness and allow congregants to reach conclusions relevant to their own lives and souls.

Glorifying God and sharing the teachings of Jesus Christ we build a community of hope and wholeness through worship, education, service, and fellowship. Click here to learn more about our Mission and Vision.

We welcome you to either of our regular Sunday Worship Services.

Our Core Values -

  1. WORSHIP
That which sets the Church apart from other institutions is its worship. Worship is integral to the life of the Church. All paths of hope and wholeness begin in worship. In worship, we come to recognize who we are.
  2. EDUCATION
The Church should be the institution that encourages us to never stop learning. The focus of this reflection is “We build a community of hope and wholeness through education.”
  3. SERVICE
The mission of AHPC is to share the TRUTH of what God desires for us. That TRUTH is that God is for us, all of us. With mission outreach to Panama and Peru, we are a local congregation with a global consciousness.
  4. FELLOWSHIP
The idea of fellowship was centered around that sense of community which developed around all the planned church events. Fellowship permeates the entire church experience.

Dignity/San Antonio (Faith / Christian )

Dignity/San Antonio has been a light to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight community since 1976.

DignityUSA works for respect and justice for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons in the Catholic Church and the world through education, advocacy, and support.

We believe that gay Catholics are members of Christ’s mystical body, numbered among the people of God. We have an inherent dignity because God created us, because Christ died for us, and the Holy Spirit sanctified us in Baptism making us a temple and the channel through which the love of God might become visible. Because of this, it is our right, our privilege, and our duty to live the sacramental life of the Church, so that we might become more powerful instruments of God’s love working among God’s people.

We believe that gays can express their sexuality in a manner that is consonant with Christ’s teaching. We believe that all sexuality should be exercised in an ethically responsible and unselfish way.

As members of DIGNITY/USA, we wish to promote the cause of the gay community. To do this, we must accept our responsibility to the Church, to society, and to the individual gay Catholic.
