As a teen, transitioning from home to living on your own is tough enough. It's especially hard if you have a disability. I assist young adults with learning the skills that they need to successfully live on their own, hold a job and integrate into the community.

The foundation of Our lady of Sorrows Parish dates back to 1905 when the Claretian Fathers from San Fernando Cathedral established a catechetical center on Valdez Street near the present church. The first liturgies were celebrated under the tent.
The site of the future church was purchased in 1911 at the intersection of Broad St and Jones Ave (now the corner of E Mistletoe and N St Mary’s St). The original church was built in 1915.
The mission of Respite Care of San Antonio is to protect, love, build trust, and nurture growth of children with special needs and complex medical conditions while strengthening the families caring for them.
The integrated services developed by Respite Care aid families and create a safe haven for children in crisis. The availability of these essential respites reduces the incidence of child abuse and neglectful environments. Full-time daycare is available, providing parents the opportunity to work or attend school. Part-time day/night out services are available in multiple venues throughout the city, offering parents a short break from caring for their child with special needs. Residential and foster care services provide care for children who have been removed from their home as a result of abuse and neglect. Through a partnership with CentroMed, a non-profit leader in the provision of healthcare services to special populations, a team of pediatric specialists provide onsite medical supports to children in the Developmental Daycare and Respite Care’s residential services, allowing the care of children with complex medical conditions.
We are a nonprofit that exists to support children and families through the process of supervised visitation.
We offer a homelike and safe visitation center for families to come together in a neutral setting.

We are passionate about maintaining strong and healthy family bonds through the visitation process!
San Antonio Zen arose out of a wish to share the Dharma and sitting practice in the Soto traditions of Shunryu Suzuki.
We aspire to benefit all beings (including ourselves) in each moment, unconditionally, with awareness, energy, lovingkindness, compassion, joy and equanimity, relaxing with what is, to realize awakening. Do not imagine that you must develop all of these qualities before you come sit with us. It is called “sitting practice,” not “sitting perfection.”
The San Antonio Zen Center community offers a haven of peace and harmony in which to engage in the arduous task of self-discovery through Zen practice. Welcoming diversity, the practice of zazen is available to people of every race, religion, nationality, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, and physical ability. May all beings realize their true nature.
As part of San Antonio Zen Center’s goal to make the dharma accessible to everyone, all of our regularly scheduled sits and Saturday program will be available via Zoom.
