In Texas, an expunction means the Court destroys all records of both the arrest and any court proceedings, so they can’t ever be found on any government-maintained database by anyone. Any record of the expunction also gets destroyed. It’s like the arrest (and the expunction) never happened.

In order to receive an expunction, a Petition must be filed with a court that has jurisdiction requesting that all records pertaining to a specific offense(s) be destroyed. If a court finds a petitioner is entitled to an expunction they will issue an Order granting the expunction.

In Texas, you can expunge an arrest as long as you didn't get convicted or receive some type of community supervision. You can also expunge a Class C Misdemeanor if you've completed a deferred adjudication (probation, treatment, or community service).

Through our outreach efforts we seek to meet women and at-risk youth where they live, work, and go to school. We establish connection and trust, offer an invitation into community, and provide access to practical resources and compassionate support.

We have an open door policy at our new community center at 8456 Broadway, Suite 255, SA, 78217. This inviting space offers a safe place for women to rest, access resources, and connect with each other. Whether you are looking to use a computer, attend a workshop, or share a cup of coffee with a friend, you are welcome.

Through a wide variety of activities and services, we have developed a proven series of programs that will provide the most comprehensive and positive environment for our clients. We provide clean, safe and stimulating areas designed to instill a sense of comfort and peacefulness, while educating and counseling those with special needs and giving them chances to succeed in many facets of everyday life.

Community Volunteer Opportunities
Making a strong connection with the community is very important for developmentally challenged individuals. Volunteering in community projects helps to strengthen those connections. These volunteering opportunities helps our folks build a stronger sense of self-worth. For this reason Stepping Stones makes every effort to locate volunteer opportunities for our people.

Job Coaching
Some of our folks have jobs when they join our program and some are wanting to find jobs. We offer job training to help those with jobs improve their skills to make it easier for them to keep working. And we offer assistance for those looking for work. As a team the staff frequently meet to assess our folks' job performances and then offer suggestions on how to help them improve.

Health Coaching
When health issues make it necessary for special needs people to make lifestyle changes it can be frightening and confusing. We, at Stepping Stones Day Hab, help guide them through the confusion by providing an on site Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach. Our Health Coach works with the individual’s team of health care professionals developing a plan of action that will address their health concerns. Once this plan is in place the Health Coach directs them on how to follow it.

This program is for adults with intellectual or developmental disorders (IDD).

Our employment programs provide the necessary tools to achieve and maintain meaningful employment and a steady income. We offer skills training, job search assistance, employment preparation and guidance. For example, we partner with the Direct Employers Association, which has a membership of about 800 employers who want to hire veterans and people with disabilities. Through this partnership, Easterseals is offering a job search portal at easterseals.jobs, which features job postings from these employers.
