An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless.

The Food Pantry of Alpine provides supplemental food to qualified persons in Northern Brewster County (Alpine and Marathon) and emergency food to those who ask. To receive food, a simple form is required; qualification is income based.

The Pantry distributes food on four separate days at the beginning of each month. If clients are unable to visit on any of the open days, they may contact the pantry to arrange an alernative time. Clients are limited to one distribution visit per month. 

Eligible clients age 60 and over who meet specific income levels may receive additional supplemental food.

The Food Pantry of Alpine offers a program for eligible clients age 60 and over that meet specific income levels. 

This program is available to seniors on a monthly basis.  This program is in addition to the monthly food supplements that are available.

To see if you qualify and receive additional supplemental food, please go to the Food Pantry on the next open dates.

Since this program requires certain eligibility standards, clients age 60 and over will need to bring proof of residence in Northern Brewster County such as a utility bill or rental bill and proof of income before receiving the supplemental food.

The pantry provides bi-monthly distributions to Fort Davis, the Davis Mountains Resort, and Valentine.

Marfa Food Pantry is sponsored by Saluvida, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt corporation. The Pantry provides monthly food distributions to low-income families in Marfa, and is supported by generous donations from the local community. Donations are used to purchase nutritious food for distribution as well as to improve storage capacity and conditions of the food pantry.

Marfa Food Pantry distributes food on the third Thursday of the month. However, if you or someone you know is in need of food between monthly distributions, please call us at (432) 295-1447, and we can help.

The Marfa Food Pantry must have a yearly application on file for each client. Click here to download an application. You may return the completed application by slipping it under the door of the food pantry or bring it with you to the next distribution.

Food is distributed every third Thursday of the month from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
