La Hacienda provides a variety of therapeutic activities including:

  • Weight room
  • Swimming pool
  • Gymnasium
  • ROPES course
  • Walking trail

The experiential therapy of our ROPES course works to focus on the all-important issues of:

  • Trust
  • Communication
  • Decision-making
  • Cooperation among group members

The confidence, encouragement, and self-awareness derived from these challenges are internalized by the individual patient and then transferred to other life situations outside of treatment. Self-respect and trust are two of the benefits that patients acquire from the ROPES course.

  • Zumba classes are 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in our courtyard. Free and open to all. Check Instagram and Facebook Stories for latest Zumba news.
  • Meditation classes meet at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in our Community Room. Free and open to all.
  • Unstructured Silent Meditation gathers Mondays from 9am to 10am. This meditation hour is silent and unstructured; you can enter the space at any time during the hour to meditate. Participants will meditate facing the wall, so as not to be disturbed by those entering after 9. A greeter will act as time keeper–- ringing a bell at 9 to start the sitting period; at 9:30 to signal the midway point, during which one can change their sitting position, or practice walking meditation; and 10 to signal the end of the sitting period.
  • Self-Led Ashtanga meets at 9am on Tuesdays and Thursdays in our Community Room. People with an existing yoga practice are invited to do yoga in community; no teacher is present. Mats available.
  • AA meets virtually --and occasionally live -- in our community room on Saturdays at 12pm. Join here.
