SAMMinistries’ Transitional Living and Learning Center (TLLC) is home to 40 families as they work to overcome homelessness.

The TLLC provides housing, support, and resources to families (one or both parents plus at least one minor child) who show a commitment to gaining self-sufficiency.

The individual needs of all family members are supported for a two-year period, promoting the viability of the family as a whole while they transition out of homelessness.

Transitional Housing Residents:

  • Have a goal to work or attend school for at least 30 hours per week
  • Meet with Case Managers regularly to establish short and long-term goals
  • Participate in life skills classes: money management, parenting, conflict resolution, etc.

Must meet HUD definition as "literally homeless" and must be referred by the community's Coordinated Entry system.

This facility does not serve single individuals. Families may consist of couples with children or single mothers or fathers with children.

Our Emergency Shelter is available for immediate care for children in crisis who have a diagnosis of intellectual developmental disability (IDD).

We welcome children residing in any county in the State of Texas. These children are referred to us from the State's Child and Family Protective Services agency in cooperation with area law enforcement agencies. The length of stay is determined through consensus with agency officials.

Our trained advocates connect clients to resources and services through a continuous, streamlined support process. From shelter and housing to employment and legal assistance, we ensure the needs of survivors and their families are met.

Our advocacy services can be accessed at any point after an incident of sexual violence, from immediate crisis support and hospital accompaniment to navigating legal and judicial systems.

If you or someone you know has been impacted by sexual violence, you can request one of our advocates at any time.
