(a) provides 18 months of fully inclusive PSE opportunities with access to typical and specialized A&M-SA services and supports; 

b) offers a meaningful credential upon completion that addresses academic, employment, and independent living domains;

(c) utilizes a person-centered approach to meet unique student needs and enhance their quality of life;

d) employs comprehensive program evaluation; and

(e) includes a plan for replication on regional and state levels.

The Rehab Without Walls Post COVID/PICS Program is a coordinated interdisciplinary approach developed to care for patients following a critical illness, like Covid-19. This is designed for patients who have spent significant time in an acute setting with ventilator support and are returning home or to work. This program helps patients with long-term Covid-19 symptoms or long-term neurological effects.

In the Arc's Adult Life Enrichment Program, we build upon the education that our participants received while in the school system by providing community and site-based programming at two facilities.

Our domain-based curriculum focuses on strengthening life skills within an environment conducive to growth and socialization. Many things set The Arc apart as a premier provider of direct-care services, some of which include: Full-Time Nursing staff, which allows us to care for individuals needing more physical assistance and to provide an educational focus on healthy lifestyle choices, a fleet of accessible vehicles, which help facilitate community-based programming, and a Volunteer Involvement Program, which allows our participants to serve the community through partnerships with Meals on Wheels, The San Antonio Food Bank, local animal shelters, and more!

Behavioral Supports: The Arc provides behavioral support services for our Life Enrichment Program participants on an individual basis and works with individual Arc participants to address and modify behaviors that may be problematic for the participant and their families.

The overall goal of behavior support is to improve the quality of life for the individual. Behavior supports will utilize the application of applied behavior analysis and target socially significant behaviors. Those targets are identified as a result of a thorough assessment (i.e. skill or behavioral) and could address areas such as:

• Functional communication (i.e. development and utilization of a communication system);
• Social Skills (i.e. initiating and reciprocating greetings, sharing/turn-taking with others, accepting no, waiting);
• Daily Living Skills (i.e. wiping tables, identifying the value of currency, washing dishes, preparing a meal);
• Behavior enhancement procedures (i.e. increasing compliance, increasing participation in activities)
• Behavior reduction procedures (i.e. decreasing incidents of aggression, classroom disruptions, verbal outbursts).
• All behavioral interventions are individualized and aim to increase functional living skills.

Program eligibility requirements:

• Diagnosis of an intellectual and/or developmental disability (IDD), autism spectrum, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, or dual diagnosis with IDD.
• Are 18 or older.
• Have state program funding or the ability to pay privately for program fees.

The Texas A&M – San Antonio Autism Lifeline Links Program (ALL) is working to increase service capacity and eliminate wait times and barriers for individuals on the autism spectrum throughout the life. ALL will do this by working collaboratively and transparently to create a comprehensive person-centered system of awareness, early diagnosis, treatment and services to improve the opportunities and outcomes for individuals with autism and their families.

The Southwind City Locals program is designed for men and women of a wide variety of abilities. Whether living in their own place, or at home with a caregiver, a Southwind Local Advisor will come to them. If living at home is what's best for now, we'll help build skills to reach new levels of independence towards tailor made goals. City Locals already living in the community, may stay in their current place of residence, should they choose to do so. Those moving to the area, or who would like to relocate, may reside in an affordable Southwind partnership apartment complex, maintaining their own lease agreements, while enjoying the fellowship and community of living alongside other Southwind City Locals. City Locals receive basic case management services from our City Local Advisors, who will check in several times weekly to assess health & safety of the living environment, bus training (if appropriate), assistance with assuring bills are paid on time (if applicable), and the offer of assistance for financial management, employment search and retention (if applicable), medical needs, personal care, and independent living skills training.

Finally, there is a place for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) where the future is bright and hope springs eternally—a place where they can maximize their full potential while finding meaningful work, engaging in sports, and developing lifetime relationships.

The Texas Foundation of Hope (TXFH) Activity Program is designed for persons 18 years of age and older who:

1) have intellectual disabilities
2) are emotionally and physically well
3) show behaviors within acceptable guidelines

Achievers Center for Education (ACE) is an educational option for 5th-12th grade students with special needs, including those functioning two years below age-appropriate in at least one subject. We offer faith-based education for children with learning differences. We feature a low student-to-teacher ratio and hands-on teaching methods that are producing amazing results!

Achievers is committed to providing an encouraging educational environment. Raising the standards regarding staff professionalism and training is a priority.

Curriculum revision is an ongoing process as we strive to adapt coursework to meet the needs of the diverse group of learners that we serve. Priorities include the integration of technology into coursework and the development of course content that is practical and encourages the development of vocational skills.

Most of the high school level students participate in the Success for Society coursework that provides on and off-site opportunities for job sampling, internship, and training.

Shining successes over the years led to graduations, continued education after graduation for some and others have become responsible employed members of our community. All are living effectively in God’s world.

The Archdiocese of San Antonio aims to further the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and physical development of every member of the Body of Christ. The Archdiocese reaches out to the disabled so that they can fully participate in the life of the parish, in worship services, recreational events and other activities. The Archdiocesan Ministry for Persons with Disabilities serves as an educational/informational resource to develop and advocate for the most vulnerable in our communities.

The Texas A&M – San Antonio Autism Lifeline Links Program (ALL) is working to increase service capacity and eliminate wait times and barriers for individuals on the autism spectrum throughout the life. ALL will do this by working collaboratively and transparently to create a comprehensive person-centered system of awareness, early diagnosis, treatment and services to improve the opportunities and outcomes for individuals with autism and their families.

SESS is a one-time 3-hour class that includes a meal, childcare, and a SESS Graduation Certificate with 3hr Credits. Each week has a theme, those themes are put together based on the needs and interests of our participants to include but not limited to Art in multimedium, Culinary Arts using adaptive items like an air fryer, Social Awareness utilizing social platforms, Relationship building, and coaching with conflict and resolution strategies, Community inclusion with many opportunities to access recreational adventures, Fitness classes in Yoga, and Volunteering opportunities with community partners.

Additionally, we have partnered with Dreams Fulfilled through Music which offers music classes in Piano, Accordion, and Bells utilizing the Colorsoundation method with recitals to showcase progress.

We utilize the ColorSoundation program on campus for our Adults, we modify the program as needed for our ISS program.

ColorSoundation uses color recognition, fun characters, an engaging story, movement, singing, and technology to teach music literacy while developing a "musical ear."

Education Services

• The Center on Independent Living has been involved with educating people with disabilities and life skills in the community as funding allows. We are constantly seeking ways to provide this service at no cost to the people who need it. This could include family members as well.

Transportation

• Our clients need transportation as well as those who are currently living independently in the community. This specialized service will enable the Center on Independent Living to enhance freedom for people with disabilities.

Home Modification Services

• The Center on Independent Living has been involved with home modification services since the 1990s as funding allows.

Relocation Services

• Funded by the Texas Department of State Health and Human Services (TXHHS), the Center on Independent Living helps disabled Medicaid recipients who are in nursing homes achieve independence in the community. 

Medicaid Waiver Program that provides services to people of all ages with an intellectual or developmental disability, related condition, or both, who live with their families or in their own home.

To maintain optimal quality of life, we provide services to help with needs related to daily living, independent living and leisure/ recreational activities.

We will provide online counseling and case management support as well as emergency aid and access to community resources.

• Assistive Technology

We offer services to help individuals with disabilities, ages 12-40, in their transition to independence.

Tutoring Services:

• Talented and gifted tutors are available for in-person or virtual tutoring services for a fee of $20.

Life Skills:

• Care Warriors provides training in essential skills needed for young adults to live more independently and thrive within the community.
• Care Warriors helps to locate essential resources to find accommodations and services for young adults to live independently
• Care Warriors provides a full range of job development activities, job readiness, worksite tours, and on-site job training and job placement
• Care Warriors provides knowledgeable, skilled, effective, empathetic, and compassionate staff.

Each participant is assessed in person and will have a personalized program that will optimize their potential.

TEA-accredited nonpublic school offers year-round individualized education for students with autism ages 3-22 using small student-to-teacher ratios and an adapted curriculum designed to best meet each students’ individual educational goals and needs.

Teachers provide the students with an atmosphere of acceptance and motivation, taking care to reward each step of accomplishment no matter how big or small.

Classrooms incorporate technology like interactive smart boards and iPads to aid in student education. Additional vocational activities such as Culinary, Snack Shop, Art, and Horticulture are also a part of ATC’s educational services.

We accept Medicaid, TRICARE, Private Insurance, Private Pay, CAP, and ISD Placement.

• Assistive Technology

We offer San Antonio's amputee community support through education, case management service, health/fitness programs, recreational and social opportunities, and basic home and car modifications.

To be eligible for assistance, you must reside in the San Antonio, Texas area and have attended at least two support group meetings.

CARD offers individualized ABA services for older children to meet their specific learning goals and to strive towards meaningful progress in their lives. CARD offers both:

• Comprehensive programs that target learning across multiple skill areas
• Focused programs that target learning in a specific area or progress with a particular skill

CARD ABA services for school-age and adolescent learners also have a heavy emphasis on:

• Making meaningful progress toward success in real-life settings
• Individualized goal setting and selection of targets based on learner and family priorities
• Teaching skills that will promote life-long learning, independence, self-advocacy, and happiness

A society truly welcomes life when it recognizes that it is also precious in old age, in disability, in serious illness and even when it is fading; when it teaches that the call to human fulfillment does not exclude suffering; indeed, when it teaches its members to see in the sick and suffering a gift for the entire community, a presence that summons them to solidarity and responsibility.

The Archdiocese of San Antonio aims to further the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and physical development of every member of the Body of Christ. The Archdiocese reaches out to the disabled so that they can fully participate in the life of the parish, in worship services, recreational events and other activities. The Archdiocesan Ministry for Persons with Disabilities serves as an educational/informational resource to develop and advocate for the most vulnerable in our communities.
