Sunshine House offers activities Monday through Friday and two Saturdays a month. Activities include exercise classes, a book club, and health screenings. For a monthly calendar of activities, click here.

The Alpine Visitor Center is a department of the City of Alpine.
The Visitor Center offers free visitor information and wi-fi. We have public restrooms that are handicap accessible and family friendly.
With our pavilion, big front porch, and covered back patio, there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic lunch or food from our area restaurants and food trucks.
The covered back patio has a mini library of free books.
Alpine Public Library maintains a collection of books, audiobooks, and DVDs for children, young adults, and adults. Patrons with library cards may check out items from the library collection.

The librarians at the front desk of the library are available to help you access the library’s many resources. Please let us know if you would like assistance searching our catalog or locating a book, movie, or other resource.
In addition, the library offers printing, copying, and faxing services.
Several computers with internet access are also available for public use. WiFi is also available.
A library card is not required to access these services

Friends of the Library volunteers provide an invaluable service to our community by delivering books, magazines, DVDs, Books-on-Tape, and other materials to patrons who are unable to come to the library themselves.
Today, four services come under the Homebound Program banner:
- Our flagship Homebound Service for patrons with enduring disabilities;
- Temporary Homebound Service for those who for a variety of reasons are temporarily unable to come to the library;
- Our Big Bend Regional Medical Center (BBRMC) Periodical Service that keeps the waiting room periodical selection up-to-date;
- Our Brewster County Jail Library Service that helps the jail staff maintain their inmate library.
