The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) provides comprehensive support to Family members with special needs. EFMP takes an all-inclusive approach to coordinate military and civilian community, educational, medical, housing, and personnel services to help Soldiers and their Families with special needs.
An Exceptional Family Member is a Family member with any physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disorder that requires special treatment, therapy, education, training, or counseling, and meets the eligibility criteria.
Soldiers with Exceptional Family Members need to register for EFMP and keep enrollment information current. This way, Family needs will be considered during the OCONUS assignments process.
If you’re eligible for EFMP services, Family members must be screened and enrolled when they accompany authorized Soldiers on OCONUS assignments. Screenings include Medical Records review for all Family members and developmental screening for children 72 months and younger.
Click here to find an EFMP service near you.
Who must enroll in the program?
- Active Army
- U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) Soldiers in the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Program
- Army National Guard (ARNG) AGR personnel serving under the authority of 10 USC and 32 USC. Department of the Army civilian employees do not enroll in the program.
You must identify dependent children with special education and medically related service needs and Family members with medical needs each time they process for an assignment to a location outside the United States where Family member travel is authorized at government expense.

That’s why America’s hospice professionals are on a mission to learn how to serve Veterans through the challenges they may be facing from illness, isolation, or traumatic life experiences.

Regardless of the situation, it is a priority of the We Honor Veterans program to ensure that all Veterans receive compassionate, quality care at the end of life.

Our prescribed pediatric extended care services let your kids be kids. Our state-of-the-art facility was designed with children in mind, allowing them to play, dream, and grow — all while meeting their physiological, developmental, nutrition, and social needs. Our goal, through PPEC, is to impact the lives of our medically complex children from the early stages of life all the way into early adulthood.
What is PPEC?
Prescribed pediatric extended care, or PPEC for short, is provided at a non-residential center that serves medically complex or technologically dependent children under the age of 21 who require short, long-term, or intermittent medical care due to medically complex conditions.
The ACP PPEC provides services to medically complex children who cannot attend a regular daycare. Our services meet the child’s physiological, developmental, nutrition, and social needs. We provide nursing and psychosocial services, developmental therapies, caregiver training, and personal care support to our children.

It can be confusing to find help for older adults and people with disabilities. Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) are part of the No Wrong Door system, which is designed to streamline public access to long-term services and supports (LTSS).
ADRCs serve as a key point of access to person-centered LTSS specialized information, referral and assistance and provide one-stop access to information for people who need help finding LTSS.
ADRCs help cut through the confusing maze of funding sources, multiple intake systems, and eligibility processes.

Supporting the long-term health of a Green Beret's Mind, Body, and Spirit.
The long-term health of a Green Beret’s mind, body, and spirit is of the utmost importance to the Foundation. We supplement the care that the Military Health System (MHS) and Veterans Health Administration (VA) provide to ensure total wellness for the Green Beret.
Some examples of how we support our community:
- Funded Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for TBI and PTSD
- Alpha-Stim®
- Infrared Light Therapy
- ChiliPad™
- Neurofeedback
- Laser Regeneration Therapy
- Aphasia Therapy
- Access to substance abuse treatment
- Inpatient/Outpatient healthcare costs not covered by TRICARE or the Veterans Health Administration
Health and Wellness Support Process:
- A Green Beret, family member, or Care Coalition advocate contacts the Foundation to inform us of a need that has arisen in our community.
- We ensure the person is, in fact, a Green Beret and that the need is valid and not supported by the Veterans Administration.
- We require supporting documentation to communicate the scope and cost of the support required.
- We require supporting documentation to communicate the scope and cost of the support required.
- We require supporting documentation to communicate the scope and cost of the support required.
- We continuously engage with the Green Beret and his family to see if the support has been helpful and if other needs have arisen.

The Next Ridgeline
The Green Beret Foundation’s Next Ridgeline program recognizes that no two Green Berets are alike. So, to be effective, our program goals strive to provide a self-driven, individualized experience. This will allow each Green Beret to utilize the sources, networks, and opportunities that are unique as he is.
By leveraging a diverse group of veteran organizations that specifically work in select areas, the Next Ridgeline program will work to develop each Green Beret’s core capabilities, enhancing his performance in our focus areas and creating a superior individual who is prepared for transition into the civilian world.

Obtaining a diagnosis of autism is often the first step in helping a child with autism. A diagnosis is determined through a diagnostic evaluation, which is required for ABA therapy.
A comprehensive diagnostic evaluation uses questionnaires, interviews, natural environment observations, and diagnosis-specific testing instruments to provide specific diagnoses for autism. The diagnostic report is reviewed with the family to guide the next steps for getting the child the support they need.
We can help you through the process of obtaining a diagnostic evaluation.
Most health insurance companies are mandated by law to cover ABA therapy for children diagnosed with autism. We work with most commercial insurance companies and Tricare, and accept Medicaid in select locations.
We are here to help you navigate the process with your insurance! Once you get started with us, we will guide you through step-by-step and work on your behalf to make sure the services your child needs are covered by your health insurance.
