The San Antonio AIDS Foundation provides a continuum of care to low-income HIV-positive men, women, and transgender individuals. Our services include resource and benefits assistance, case management, mental health counseling, medical care, pharmacy services, housing, and a year-round hot meal program.

We offer onsite and mobile testing for HIV and STDs, as well as HIV prevention education presentations in local public schools, colleges and universities, adult probation facilities, and teen detention programs.

Services are only available to individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are registered clients of the San Antonio AIDS Foundation.

Community Living Services – Intermediate Care Facility – Group Home

ResCare’s Group Home setting offers individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) a more personal, home-like atmosphere.

Each resident receives their bedroom with no more than three to four individuals in the house. Each home is staffed 24/7 and helps make the home feel more like a family setting. Meals are served in common areas, providing residents with an opportunity for social interaction and camaraderie.

Individuals in the group home share responsibilities with cooking, cleaning, shopping, and other tasks related to home maintenance. The Group Home setting allows an individual to live their life to the best of their abilities while being cared for and assisted as needed.

The team at AlamoCare Adult Activity Center invites seniors and adults with functional impairments to enjoy a vibrant social environment. Clients spend their days participating in engaging activities like pool, ring toss, and other guided games. On select days, they go on local outings, including trips to the movies, bowling alleys, and restaurants. Entertainment options also include bingo, dancing, Bible study, and arts and crafts.

AlamoCare provides nutritious, home-cooked meals for breakfast and lunch, along with healthy snacks. The kitchen staff is attentive to dietary needs, such as food allergies and medical conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, ensuring a safe dining experience.

Transportation to and from the facility is free. Clients can be dropped off by family members, use the center's transportation services, or ride VIA Trans. Staff members are available to assist with VIA Trans applications if needed.

Each day begins with clients arriving in the morning and enjoying breakfast with their choice of milk, coffee, or juice while watching the news and socializing. Afterward, they can play bingo, participate in arts and crafts, or relax in groups.

Midday activities include guided exercises followed by a lively dance party, showcasing the positive mental benefits of music. After enjoying a home-cooked lunch, clients often take a stroll on the secure, tree-covered patio.
