The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Eating Recovery Center empowers patients to take ownership of their recovery and become active participants in their lives. Our Intensive Outpatient program is a flexible eating disorder treatment program that allows patients to work, go to school, or care for children during the day and sleep at home at night.

In IOP, patients are in treatment up to three days per week for up to 9 hours per week. Programming includes nutritional counseling, individual therapy, family therapy, supported meals and more.

Experienced professionals employ a number of therapeutic interventions in IOP, including:

  • Family-Centered Treatment
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT)

The program also incorporates core recovery principles, values, mindfulness, and connectedness.

The IOP can serve as a step-down level of care, helping to foster a positive transition into activities of daily living for adults upon discharging from our Residential or Partial Hospitalization programs. IOP can also be leveraged as a direct-admit level of care for adult patients requiring a higher level of care from an outpatient setting - allowing them to remain engaged with their lives.

Meeting Patients Where They Are and Guiding Them to Recovery

Eating Recovery Center is removing the barriers that can keep patients with anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders from receiving treatment. Through telebehavioral health programming, our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (Virtual IOP) now offers the same world-class care—and outcomes—as our in-person treatment centers of excellence, for patients who:

  • Live in locations with limited access to treatment
  • Have time constraints due to work, school, or family obligations
  • Are reluctant to receive treatment in person

Flexible, Individualized Treatment to Meet Patient Needs
With just a computer and internet connection, patients can participate in a comprehensive, guided eating disorder treatment program from their home, office, college dorm, or other private place, no matter where they are in life or their journey to recovery.

  • Led by our team of licensed, renowned professionals with extensive training in telebehavioral health ethics and delivery
  • Collaborative care teams – therapist, psychiatrist, and dietician provide virtual online therapy and treatment
  • Small group sessions that allow patients to connect with peers and practice their skills in a supportive setting
  • Joint Commissioned Accredited Programs

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers some of the same intensity and structure of Residential eating disorder treatment while providing additional opportunities to practice recovery outside of the controlled eating disorder treatment environment during evenings at home or in peer-supported apartment communities.

Unlike many Partial Hospitalization Programs that only offer 6 hours of eating disorder treatment, 5 days per week, our Partial Hospitalization Program offers patients a full day of treatment, 7 days per week.

By offering a full day of adult eating disorder treatment programming every day of the week, patients are supported through all meals and snacks with ample structure and containment to achieve symptom interruption and/or weight restoration.

Programming in our Partial Hospitalization program emphasizes the development of lifelong recovery skills in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. A well-rounded curriculum offers staff-supported opportunities to practice interactions and challenges outside of treatment through many avenues, including:

  • Interactive group sessions
  • Transitions groups
  • Process groups
  • Art therapy

Lifetime Recovery's residential center is situated on a serene and private 18.5-acre campus in rural southeast Bexar County. This provides the perfect place for those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse to receive treatment for their addictions and maintain long-term sustained sobriety.

This campus is the largest gender-specific residential care facility for men in South Texas. The goal is the restoration of the family by forming better fathers, better sons, better brothers—better men.

Each person who seeks treatment at Lifetime Recovery receives a thorough individual screening and assessment by a licensed clinician to determine the exact nature and the most appropriate level of care.

This process also looks into issues other than chemical dependency, such as physical, social, and psychological needs.

These processes help the counselors tailor treatment plans to meet each client’s individual needs.

Our foundational program is a client-centered, strengths-based treatment approach for addiction recovery and other mental health challenges.

Active in Recovery (AIR) utilizes the neuroscience of physical movement with intense physical exercise to induce neuroregeneration and neuroplasticity within the brains of the participants.

This is all done in a team-based community setting. The effect of this process on the brain will support an improved capacity to handle stress, a reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression, and improved cognition, social engagement, self-image, and self-esteem.

Choose to Change Mentoring is a program offered by the Choose to Change Foundation. We work directly with men coming out of prison and struggling with drugs and alcohol. Our self-supporting, Christian-based program meets weekly (one-hour meetings). We believe in the life-changing power of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

We teach personal development, personal responsibility, and life skills through our meetings and events. Drug and alcohol education is crucial to all our programs, classes & events. Membership is entirely free, but we encourage donations from our members and anyone who believes in what we do.

Our mentoring program is designed to give people a starting point for a better future. We do not claim to have all the answers, but be assured that we do have answers.

A.C.D.C = Accountability, Consistency, Discipline & Courage. These are the core values at the forefront of our program. People, especially men, will be challenged to become more than they ever thought possible. This will be accomplished through our structured weekly meetings, events, and a “60-day mentoring challenge” available to all members. We believe people need to be inspired, challenged, and equipped to believe in what may seem impossible.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our program. Please take a few minutes to read through the rest of this page. If you would like a closer look at what we do and why we do it, please give us a call or come by one of our weekly meetings or events.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Addiction to drugs or alcohol is a chronic disease. And like any disease, it requires treatment. At San Antonio Recovery Center, we offer a variety of addiction treatment programs to help those in our community and beyond heal from the effects of addiction and begin to take back their lives.

One of the treatment options in our recovery center is an intensive outpatient program (IOP). An intensive outpatient program can be an effective option for those who can’t take time away from responsibilities at work or home.

Additionally, this level of care is often the best choice for those who have been through residential treatment and are looking for an outpatient program to help them transition back into everyday life.

At San Antonio Recovery Center, we offer personalized treatment and a supportive and welcoming setting. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, reach out to our team today. We can tell you more about our intensive outpatient program, verify your insurance, and help you access the care you need. Connect with a member of our team at 866-957-7885 or reach out online to learn more.

What to Expect in Our Intensive Outpatient Program:

Typically, patients who are participating in our intensive outpatient program will come to our center for sessions several times a week for two to four hours at a time. They might live at home while in treatment, or they might live in a sober living residence. Sober living is ideal for patients whose living environments are not stable or supportive of recovery. In sober living, residents pledge to maintain sobriety and work on their recovery while living in a structured environment.

Patients receive care and therapies that are best suited to their individual needs as part of a personal treatment plan based on the 12-step philosophy. This approach involves an accurate diagnosis, advanced modalities of treatment, and a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Relapse prevention is the biggest focus of intensive outpatient program treatment, just as it is for inpatient residential programs. We help our patients avoid relapse by creating personalized plans to address the triggers that could lead to drug and alcohol use.

For those who are battling serious addictions to heroin or alcohol, Texas residential drug and alcohol treatment is often the best option for recovery. This form of treatment immerses patients fully in recovery, providing time and space from the daily pressures of home to properly heal, develop self-confidence, and re-learn important life skills.

Residential drug and alcohol addiction rehab patients also have the benefit of being fully supervised within a safe environment of trust and understanding. Our medical team and other experienced staff members ensure that each patient receives the care they need. During the most vulnerable times of recovery, such as immediately following medical detoxification, this kind of environment can be the best place for our clients to start on the road to a successful recovery.

At San Antonio Recovery Center, we offer high-quality residential treatment in our state-of-the-art rehab facility in Texas. Contact us at 866-957-7885 to learn more today.

Elements typically incorporated into daily life in our Texas residential drug and alcohol treatment program include:

  • Individual Counseling – Work through the underlying causes of addiction through one-on-one sessions
  • Group Therapy – Gain perspective and build a network of support in sessions with your peers
  • Spiritual counseling – Addiction affects both the body and the mind, and spiritual counseling can help you heal
  • Dual Diagnosis – Treatment for co-occurring disorders, such as depression, trauma or anxiety

Rise Inspire Academy provides a safe, supportive recovery and academic environment that places high school students on a trajectory toward a life of purpose and value.

Family members of students at RIA will also have access to peer groups and counseling. This "community of recovery" model includes the instructional staff as well, who will be equipped with strategies and tools to ensure a total recovery experience for our scholars.

Students commonly relapse when they re-enter the same environment that doesn't support their recovery. As an experienced nonprofit, we also understand why young people struggle with substance-use disorder. Rise Inspire Academy directly addresses these challenges by bringing the common goals of substance use recovery and high school graduation to one place.

To achieve these outcomes, we have implemented our three-legged stool approach: Peer Groups, Engaging Academics, and Recovery Community. At the intersection of the three legs are our scholars who must first commit to taking a seat. This commitment to recovery launches their journey and is then strategically supported by each leg of the stool.
