During residential treatment, patients learn recovery skills, interpersonal skills and mental health management skills to manage mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, mood disorders, and others. The length of stay is determined individually by our clinical team with the patient.

Residential patients attend 30 hours of programming per week. The topics covered include the biology of addiction, interpersonal skills, relapse prevention skills, communication skills, anger management, grief/loss, codependency, movement, yoga and recovery skills. The residential program is centered on evidenced-based practices, recent neuroscience discoveries and the mind-body connection.

The patient will work with an individual counselor to resolve any presenting mental health issues, trauma issues and/or any adverse childhood experiences. Mental health issues, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences are risk factors that may be contributing to the addiction. In addition to clinical participation, patients will also learn about the 12-step program and attend 12-step meetings on-campus and off-campus.

Serving the First Responder Community

It is not uncommon for emergency responders to share strong, family-like bonds. Due to the nature of their occupations, they often have experiences that only their peers can relate to.

At Starlite Recovery Center, our team features former first responders who provide an authentic source of support and empathy for the patients in our Harbor of Hope program.

We understand that many members of the emergency response community have endured events that have negatively impacted their lives. For this reason, we proudly offer residential programming that addresses the unique needs of this population.

Hill Country MHDD provides Outpatient Treatment Services called "HODOS" for Adults 18 years and older. HODOS stands for:

Hill Country MHDD

Outreach for chemical

Dependency and

Outpatient

Services

"HODOS" is an ancient Greek word that portrays an image of a path or way in a culture where walking was the primary mode of transportation. Walking on a path involves choosing to enter on the path and to pursue it in each direction, progress toward a destination, addressing safety and not getting lost, and arriving at a goal.

The purpose of this name is to focus on a "a shift away from crisis-oriented, deficit-focused, and professionally-directed models of care to a vision of care that is directed by people in recovery, emphasizes the reality and hope of long-term recovery, and recognizes the many pathways to healing for people with addiction and mental health challenges" (Surgeon General Report). In focusing on person-centered services, each individual is assessed and specific services tailored to what is important to them are created.

Adult Supportive Outpatient Treatment is individual and group therapy for individuals struggling with substance abuse issues and their families. One of our goals at HCCADA is to keep the families together while their loved ones are successfully going through treatment. That is what Supportive Outpatient Treatment provides: the opportunity to heal not only the individual affected by addictions, but also their families by allowing the individual to still work and meet other family obligations and participate in treatment simultaneously.

To determine the most effective counseling or treatment, you will receive a thorough clinical assessment at your first visit. Fortunately, this assessment is covered by most insurance plans. You can come alone or have your family accompany you. Based on that assessment, we will recommend the best course of treatment, which may include individual, family, or group counseling by our therapists.

Outpatient treatment involves a series of weekly counseling session comprised of 5 hours of therapy: two 2-hour group sessions and one 1 individual counseling session.

Treatment continues until you have mastered basic skills for self-care and constant recovery. Your therapist will assist you in developing a strong discharge/recovery plan before your last session.

To schedule an outpatient screening appointment, come by and fill out the outpatient registration form, and bring with you:

  • Your photo ID,
  • Proof of insurance

We will call you to set up an appointment.

We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicaid.

Financial assistance may be available. (Limited based on eligibility).

For Group Healing From Substance Abuse:

One individual’s addiction can have a significant effect on the entire family. Addiction can take an incredible toll on family members. The anger, worry, and fear oftentimes paralyze families who feel helpless to effectively intervene.

The Family Program at Plum Creek Recovery Ranch is designed to support the family while their loved one is in treatment. Research shows improved long-term recovery and sobriety when families also receive the support they need.

Our Goals:

  • Education about the disease model of addiction
  • Understanding the dynamics of codependency,
enabling behaviors and setting healthy boundaries
  • Improving communication skills

Plum Creek Recovery Ranch is a 46-bed adult residential treatment program for alcohol and drug abuse. Our facility lies on 200 acres of beautifully scenic rolling foothills located just outside of Austin, Texas.

We offer a wide array of evidence-based treatments that include Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT).

Medication Therapy (MAT) is the use of medication, in combination with counseling and behavior therapies, to successfully treat substance use disorders.

MAT is primarily used for addiction to opioids such as heroin and prescription painkillers that contain opiates.

There are also MAT medications for use in treating alcohol addiction.

The MAT-prescribed medications act to normalize brain chemistry, block the euphoric effects of opioids and alcohol, relieve cravings, and stabilize body functions without the negative effects of the abused drug.

Benefits include:

  • Increased survival from overdose
  • Increased retention in treatment
  • Decreased criminal activity
  • Group and individual therapy sessions
  • Decreased illicit drug use
  • Increased ability to gain & maintain employment
