This program, referred to as IOP, is for adults ages 18 and older, and focuses on psychiatric concerns, substance abuse/mis-use issues, or both.

Our ultimate goal, is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where our patients can continue their road to healing.

Weekly visits with a psychiatrist and therapist are NOT included at this level of care. Patients will receive community referrals for these services.

What is group counseling?

Group counseling is a very positive experience for most people because the therapist and group members build a safe place to explore the problems surrounding their relationships.

Through the sharing process, members develop a level of trust that allows them to be honest, open with one another, and accept each other despite any faults.

Group counseling usually is effective because members behave in ways that reflect how they are outside of the group. Other members can support the individual by changing those unproductive patterns through feedback.

Over time, disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and more can develop as a result of these cognitive distortions. Below are four examples of cognitive distortions identified in CBT.

  • Individual Therapy
In most teen treatment centers, individual sessions are offered only once a week. At Innova Joy, teens attend multiple weekly sessions with licensed clinicians. We create specialized treatment plans tailored to the specific constellation of behaviors and co-occurring issues.
  • Parent Support
You desire a deeper bond and understanding with your teen, but may just not know how to get there. Innova Joy offers coaching and support groups for parents to redefine their relationships with their teens, allowing for improved communication, understanding and trust.
  • Academics
The academic component of your teen's life is critical to establishing a structured environment. Your child will attend classes daily with a certified teacher to help regain school credits and ensure they are well prepared academically post graduation from our program.
  • Trauma-Focused Treatment
Trauma is often stored in the body as well as the mind; therefore, we believe in treating the whole person. From animal-assisted therapy to EMDR, we ensure that every aspect of your teen's experience promotes healing and wellness.

Being discharged from an inpatient program can be intimidating. For many, it means that you are going to immerse yourself back into reality, which might mean facing triggers and your addiction head-on.

Not everyone is ready to pick up where they left off once they finish inpatient treatment. Some people need a little more support for the first month after being hospitalized, and that’s okay. It’s also not unexpected.

Outpatient services often work as a bridge for those leaving inpatient. They can become more comfortable leaving the facility and heading into the real world while returning for therapy and treatment.

But, some people need an extra level of care, which is where an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) comes into play.

What To Expect in an IOP:

When you enter into an Intensive Outpatient Program, there are different requirements you need to meet. These all pertain to the methods of treatment, different activities to participate in, and your overall recovery journey.

In an IOP, you will attend both individual therapy and group therapy. This will allow you to understand your connection to substance abuse better and find mental health support from other people fighting substance use disorder. Community is key.

Through support groups and recreational activities, you can find common ground with other patients. During an IOP, one of our goals is to introduce you to other sober individuals so that you can continue developing healthy connections once you’ve left our facility.

If you are looking to find a treatment option with extensive individual and group therapy, accountability, and accessibility, it may be worth taking a closer look at outpatient treatment.

Everyone deserves access to treatment for their substance use disorder, but not everyone can afford to stop what they are doing and enter an inpatient service. You might have a job that you can’t take time off from, or schoolwork that you cannot get extensions for, or maybe a family that needs you to take care of them. An active addiction can take a toll.

Outpatient services offer another way of getting treatment for your substance abuse while still maintaining some of your responsibilities. While there are many benefits to inpatient services, outpatient therapy can be just as helpful for long-term recovery.

You will still receive a high level of care while in outpatient drug or alcohol rehab.

What To Expect From Outpatient:

Outpatient services teach you how to cope with your drug or alcohol addiction and find ways to manage it when off in the real world. Those who have to return to situations where active use is happening, or there is a lack of support, can find it challenging to stay sober, but outpatient services provide you with tools and methods to control your urges.

Outpatient services offer learning opportunities so you can better understand relapse, coping mechanisms, triggers, and addiction as a disease. These services are often geared towards your personal needs, so they take into account your environment and history of substance use.

Outpatient allows you to maintain your normal schedule while still treating your addiction, so there is a lot of responsibility and hard work that has to be put into this kind of treatment. Having family and friends who support you when you leave the facility can make the recovery process much easier.

You have to stay committed and work harder when undergoing outpatient treatment because you have the freedom to make decisions once you’re off campus. If you’re committed to the process, you’ll know where to turn for the support you need.

Whether you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, Soba Recovery in San Antonio has a specialized treatment plan waiting to help.

Not everyone can enter into a full inpatient residential program, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find assistance with your recovery in other ways.

Others need more than just bi-weekly support groups and outpatient programs, which is where partial hospitalization can help.

Partial Hospitalization Programs can vary, but they typically run on a strict daily schedule for several hours each day. You generally arrive in the morning and leave in the mid-afternoon.

You will have daily individual therapy sessions and group meetings, all geared to meet your individual needs.

Solo sessions allow you to speak privately about concerns you have.

Group therapy brings comfort while instilling a sense of community. Addiction is isolating. Our PHP program provides reassurance that you are not alone and offers healthy places to turn to in times of stress.

A sober living home is a home or facility where one can enter who is recovering from a substance use disorder. This is the halfway point between inpatient services and returning home. If you or a loved one might struggle back at home while dealing with substance abuse, sober living might be a great alternative.

We understand that leaving inpatient treatment can be very difficult and scary for some individuals. Maybe this is because they aren’t feeling confident enough yet to be on their own or because their home situation is not a safe or supportive one. Whatever the case may be, you may find yourself wondering if there are better temporary living environments.

In San Antonio, at Soba Texas, we offer you the ability to enter sober living after inpatient treatment has come to a close. This way, you can be surrounded by like-minded individuals who all want what’s best for each other.

What Can I Expect in San Antonio Sober Living?

You might be wondering what exactly sober living entails. It might seem straightforward based on the name, but there is more to it than just being sober and living in the home. Although a sober living home has zero tolerance, other rules and regulations exist.

Sober living does not require that you are present all the time. It encourages you to step outside and re-enter the world. You might begin taking on your old tasks, starting back at school or your job, or maybe applying for a new job. Sober living is a healthy, supportive base you can use to grow and heal.

If you or a loved one could benefit from sober living, feel free to reach out to a Soba Texas representative and discuss how to become involved.

During residential treatment, patients learn recovery skills, interpersonal skills, and mental health management skills to manage mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, mood disorders, and others. Length of stay is determined individually by our clinical team with the patient.

Residential patients attend 30 hours of programming per week. The topics covered include the biology of addiction, interpersonal skills, relapse prevention skills, communication skills, anger management, grief/loss, codependency, movement, yoga, and recovery skills. The residential program centered on evidenced-based practices, recent neuroscience discoveries, and the mind-body connection.

The patient will work with an individual counselor to resolve any presenting mental health issues, trauma issues, and or any adverse childhood experiences. Mental health issues, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences are risk factors that may be contributing to the addiction. In addition to clinical participation, patients will learn about the 12-step program and attend 12-step meetings on-campus and off-campus.
