San Antonio Community Resource Directory

SAAF provides 3 free hot nutritious meals a day, 365 days a year. Special holiday meals are prepared and served for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Since 1986, the San Antonio AIDS Foundation has been the only AIDS organization in the city providing free hot meals for anyone who is HIV-positive. In order to receive meals, one need not be a client of SAAF, but must have a meal card. All menus are reviewed by a registered dietitian and include foods that help provide for the particular dietary needs of persons with HIV/AIDS.

MEAL CARDS (OBTAINING A CARD IS EASY):

  • Please see your primary case manager (at any AIDS service agency) to get meal card eligibility paperwork to bring back to SAAF so that you can have a meal card.
  • You will be asked to show the card each time you come in for a meal.
  • You must see your medical case manager every six months to renew your card.
  • We ask that you check in with your case manager to review needs, confirm plans for a visit to your doctor for checkup and lab work, and to discuss progress so that you can best manage your HIV-positive status and live a healthy life.

Free.
