Project Cool at Claude Black Community Center
San Antonio Community Resource Directory
Project Cool is a citywide initiative to provide senior citizens and individuals with disabilities relief from extreme summer temperatures that claim lives and hospitalize hundreds of San Antonians each year. By providing 20-inch box fans as an alternative to air conditioning, Project Cool also reduces utility costs for those living on a fixed income. Project Cool is a collaborative effort of the City of San Antonio (Human Services, Fire Department), the Archdiocese of San Antonio (Catholic Charities), United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and community and corporate partners. Donations of 20-inch box fans can be dropped off at this location Mon-Fri, 10:00am-2:00pm.
This program is for seniors (age 60+) and individuals with disabilities who reside in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
