Dr. Jon Pierce began thinking about PSE issues for adults with IDD after his first child, Ocean, was born with Down syndrome (DS) in 2001. In 2008, Dr. Pierce joined the faculty of the Neuroscience Department of the University of Texas at Austin to perform research and teach neuroscience to undergraduate and graduate students.

Online and Virtual Assistance

Virtual courses are offered via the video-telephone platform Zoom. We recommend students interested in virtual courses to have an authorized Zoom account before joining.

To register for a particular course, please scroll down this page and select your preferred course to proceed to registration.  Each course can enroll a maximum of 13 students with IDDs, and registration is first-come first-serve. We limit the maximum enrollment at 13 to maintain our 1:1 peer support ratio and preserve quality of instruction.

Each six-week long course is $125 (to be paid at the time of registration), or about $20 per 2 hour class.
