Skateboarding Volunteer Role:

The volunteer will physically ensure the safety of the participant they are partnered with who is learning to skateboard. To ensure safety, volunteers may need to physically hold/spot the participant's hands, arms, shoulders, and hips if needed while the participant is riding the skateboard. Keep in mind every participant will have varying disabilities and you will be assisted by the lead coach. The coach will provide the skateboarding instruction to volunteers and participants. In addition, you will provide encouragement and motivation as needed.

We provide skateboarding programs and clinics in partnership with different community organizations, city parks, and disability groups across Texas.

One-Day Clinics
1-1.5 hour programs to introduce skateboarding, the fundamentals, and exposure to possibilities for new hobbies and recreation.

Multi-Series Program
The multi-week or multi-month program goes beyond the clinic exposure where we work on skill building for the program’s duration. These programs meet for 1-1.5 hours weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.

These programs have 10-20 participants with skateboards, helmets, and instruction provided.

Locations
Programs are offered throughout the state of Texas with different organizations or communities. Check the program registration to see if a program is in your area. If you know an organization or community in Texas that would be interested in an adaptive skateboarding program please reach out to [email protected]
