"Clutterers Anonymous℠ is a Fellowship of compulsive clutterers who practice a 12-Step and 12-Tradition program modeled after Alcoholics Anonymous® (A.A.®). Just as alcoholics join A.A. to arrest the disease of alcoholism, and gamblers join Gamblers Anonymous® (GA®) to arrest the compulsion to gamble, we join CLA℠ to arrest the compulsion to clutter, one day at a time.

"Anyone may join CLA, regardless of age, gender, race, color, nationality, or creed. To begin our program, it is not necessary to understand fully why we clutter. There is only one requirement for CLA membership: the desire to stop cluttering.

"There are no strings attached to the CLA program of recovery. There are no initiation fees or dues. We are self-supporting through our own contributions. We are not affiliated with any religious, legal, or political group or connected to any outside enterprise. Our Fellowship is based on suggestion, interchange of experience, rotation of leadership, and service." (From Is CLA for You? A Newcomer’s Guide to Recovery, available here.)

CLA offers a variety of meetings and some are better attended than others. Some members prefer smaller, more intimate meetings which allow for more individual sharing. Some prefer the energy and diversity of attendees in the larger meetings. Please sample several and you will find one that suits you.
