From an active retiree looking to fill their newfound leisure time through supporting a homebound neighbor relying on a daily wellness check and delivery of a hot meal, we promote opportunities to live longer and healthier lives.

Meals on Wheels Kendall County delivers frequent in-home visits that provide unique opportunities to meet nutritional needs, combat social isolation, address safety hazards, and provide holistic care.

 

How Do You Qualify For Meals On Wheels Kendall County?

  • 60+ or caregiver of someone 60+
  • Resident of Kendall County
  • Not able to cook/prepare your own meals
  • Not able to leave your home
  • Not able to drive

The Medical Loan Closet provides access for all individuals in the community to used and new durable medical equipment for short term or long term needs.

Durable Medical Equipment for Loan:

  • Rollators (walkers with seats and hand-brakes)

  • Shower chairs
  • Shower transfer benches
  • Wheelchairs and transfer chairs
  • Knee scooters
  • Bedside commodes
  • Disposable adult undergarments

To Borrow Equipment:

It is best to contact us at 830-249-2114 or [email protected] before stopping by to ensure that what you need is available. All equipment is loaned out for a $20 processing fee per loan occasion and can be picked up by you or a family member on your behalf.

If we have it, you can pick it up during our hours of operation
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

If we don’t have it, we’ll keep your name and number and call you when the item you requested is donated.

Pick It Up:

Items are located at Kronkosky Place, 17 San Antonio Road, Boerne, TX 78006. When you arrive, please see the receptionist at the front desk. Items may be loaned for as long as needed. We kindly request that items are brought back when finished so they can be re-loaned.

The Thrift Shop serves as a purpose driven effort building value for its volunteers, shoppers, visitors, and benefitting The Center and its programs through funds raised.

Our holiday shop temporarily operates from the first week in November through mid-December. The holiday shop hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

We are happy to accept your donations of gently worn, clean items. Donations can be dropped off during regular operating hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Transportation through The Center provides door-to-door personal transportation services in Boerne to and from KPlace, doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, or other errands in our community.

To Schedule a Ride:

To schedule a ride, call 830-249-2114 at least 24 hours in advance. Trips can be booked up to 30 days in advance and are on a first come, first served basis.

Ride Fares:

$2 one way, $4 round trip.

Ride tickets can be purchased in advance for 5 rides ($10) or 10 rides ($20).
