Special Teams Soccer (Nonprofit )

NEYSO Special Teams is a program that was started in 1987 by Ray Lange. This program was designed to give handicapped  athletes a chance to play in a sport that they may not have a chance to play due to their disability.

We have had over 300 athletes play in our program since the beginning. Right now we have athletes that range from ages 4 to 55. We allow every athlete to play no matter what their disability.

Our program consists of a Spring season which generally starts in the middle of March ending the middle of May, and a Fall season which starts the middle of September ending the Middle of November.

In between the two seasons our athletes participate in the Special Olympics Area and State games.

Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Our Program is designed to allow "Special Needs" Athletes the opportunity to play a team sport.

Not only do we teach our players soccer but we teach them how to work together as a team. But most of all we allow them to have fun. This is not just a soccer team we are a FAMILY.

Our program also helps build socialization skills that help in other areas of our lives. We play every Spring and Fall season. Every May we particiapte in the Special Olympic State Games.
