Baptist Senior Psychiatric programs offer personalized, confidential care in a carefully structured, safe, and medically appropriate psychiatric unit specifically designed for the treatment of older adults with mental illness.
Our integrated approach centers on an active treatment team led by a Psychiatrist and includes licensed Social Workers, psychiatric-trained RNs, activity/recreation therapists, and psychiatric care associates. The programs are also supported by a wide range of other medical specialists within the Baptist Health System.
Psychiatry specializes in the treatment of:
- Depression
- Hallucinations
- Anxiety
- Suicidal or homicidal thoughts
- Adjustment disorders
- Other mental health concerns
Services in the Psychiatric units include:
- Psychiatric medication evaluation and management
- Group, family, and individual therapy
- Experiential and recreation therapies
- Multidisciplinary team approach
- Ancillary supportive therapies such as PT/OT, Dietician consults, and Pastoral Care when indicated
