Wounded Warrior Project (Nonprofit )

Every warrior has a next mission. We know that the transition to civilian life is a journey. And for every warrior, family member, and caregiver, that journey looks different.

We are here for their first step and each step that follows. Because we believe that every warrior should have a positive future to look forward to. There’s always another goal to achieve, another mission to discover. We are their partner in that mission.

We serve veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. You are our focus. You are our mission.

Here you’re not a member - you’re an alumnus, a valued part of a community that’s been where you’ve been and understands what you need. Everything we offer is free because there’s no dollar value to finding recovery and no limit to what you can achieve.

The transition from service member to civilian can be a difficult one. Like the 52% of warriors who say they don’t have close relationships with others, you may feel alone, lost, or hesitant to reach out to somebody for help.

That’s why we developed our veteran outreach program. Every year, WWP reaches out to veterans, caregivers, and family support members to check in, provide updated information on programs and services, and let them know that WWP is here whenever they need us. You can also expect a weekly email informing you of upcoming events in your area and twice a year you will receive the AAR magazine.

To be eligible for this program you must be a Veteran or service member who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001, or their family member or caregiver.

With 113,000 registered warriors, we’ve developed a large network of people like you. Yet, 52% of warriors say they don’t have close personal relationships with others.

That’s why we offer peer-led groups and events across the country; including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam. As a warrior, Carlos De Leon explained, “No one knows what you’re going through better than someone who’s been there.” We are bringing the veteran community together to not only get you the support you deserve but allow you to support fellow warriors. Whether you’re looking for someone to talk to or someone to spur you on to achieve your goals, Peer Support is here for you.

To be eligible for this program you must be a Veteran or service member who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001, or their family member or caregiver.

You are stronger than you think - and there’s no better place to discover that strength than on the open road.

Soldier Ride is a four-day cycling experience where you’ll meet warriors like you, push your limits beyond what you think is possible, and leave with a deeper understanding of who you are and what you’re capable of.

No bike is necessary – we provide you access to them at no cost.

Even if you’re injured, you can still be a part of the journey. We offer state-of-the-art adaptive hand cycles, trikes, and bicycles for warriors with injuries and disabilities.

If you're a WWP Alumnus, reach out to your local WWP office for a referral, or call the Resource Center (888-WWP-ALUM) and a Soldier Ride Recruiter will be in touch about the next steps.

Wounded Warrior Project partners with four world-renowned academic medical centers, to form Warrior Care Network, healing invisible wounds of service and improving the psychological healing of our nation's veterans. The Warrior Care Network program provides veterans living with PTSD, TBI, and related conditions with a path to long-term wellness.

Participating warriors receive a year’s worth of mental health care during a 2-3-week intensive outpatient program, using evidence-based treatments with alternative therapies.

Warriors who complete the Warrior Care Network program have seen a significant improvement in PTSD and depression symptoms.
