Transportation in the form of bus tickets to pre-scheduled medical appointments or job interviews. (Appointments must be verifiable.)

A monthly bus pass may be issued for new full-time (32+ hours) permanent job. (Employment must be verified by a physical copy of an employment verification letter.)

Families and individuals in need of clothing may "shop" at our clothes closet once every 30 days.

Other things such as diapers, hygiene items, and household linens are also offered when available.

All families and individuals are welcome at CAM.

• No zip code or demographic restrictions.

Required for all services:

• Photo ID (any type)
• Original Social Security Card for all members of the household (If there is an issue, we can offer a grace period on the first visit.)

Grocery services are available to each family once every two months.

• Valid Photo ID
• Proof of residency
• Social Security Card for everyone in the family (If there is an issue, we can offer a grace period on the first visit.)

Help in recovering lost or stolen identification documents, including out-of-state birth certificates.

• CAM requires the client must have some type of photo ID (expired, Offender’s ID, School ID, Medical Facility ID, or a color copy with visible information.)
• Original Social Security card is also required.

Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM) offers free mailbox service for individuals experiencing homelessness.

• Must show ID to pick up mail. (CAM can help you get an ID if you do not have one.)
• Must sign the CAM Mail Policy for Clients.
• Not available to registered sex offenders.

Free.

We are able to help cover the cost of many prescription medications up to $80 per year. (May be given out multiple times during the year until the $80 limit is reached.)

Must have a prescription from a doctor.

Our portable toilets are located in the corner of our parking lot and are freely available to the public.

We provide sack lunches six days a week.

CAM provides case management in the form of referrals to other agencies and help in navigating the social service system.

Showers are available on the CAM campus for individuals experiencing street homelessness.

Hygiene items, underwear, and socks are also provided while supplies last.

(This service is provided in partnership with Corazon San Antonio.)

We provide financial assistance for overdue utility bills (as long as funds are available).

Assistance is limited to once a 12-month period.

Proof in the form of a disconnection notice is required.

Volunteers typically work one shift each week but are welcome to work more or less often as available.

• School supplies and backpacks are available by signing up from mid-June to early July.

Food Pantry services are available to each family once every two months.

(CAM NW is located in the southeast corner of the University United Methodist Church campus.)
